Really? Wow. Based on random rumours over the past 12 months. Bit of a stretch don't you think?

Clarke and Meaney are almost certains .. !!

He may be sidelined through injury but it hasn’t stopped rival clubs looking closely at Newcastle Knights back-up fullback Nick Meaney for next season.

We’ve heard the Wests Tigers and Gold Coast are two of at least three clubs who have expressed an interest in Meaney, who has a pretty fair fullback in Kalyn Ponga standing in his way at the Knights.

Newcastle officials are keen to keep the Ballina junior and are set to meet with his manager Daniel O’Loughlin next week to discuss a possible contract extension.

Meaney should return from early season ankle surgery in the next two or three weeks.

Tigers go cold on English recruit

The outstanding form of youngster Esan Marsters has made Wests Tigers pull out of their bid to sign crack English centre Oliver Gildart.

The current Young England Player of the Year, Wigan star Gildart was keen to come to the Tigers next season.

Tigers recruitment manager Dave Warwick even checked out his form on a recent trip to the UK - but the club decided they are better off with Marsters.

Centre was shaping as a real problem for the Tigers this year following the loss of both Moses Suili and Taane Milne.

But Marsters has stepped up to the plate and is playing as well as any centre in the competition.

Don't you need 2 centres - i'm guessing someone else is already in the mix.

I also thought Cleary would be recruiting min 3 on the books to have lots of competition. This year we started with Suli, Milne, Marsters, Naquama and Founa. With Thompson, MWZ, McQueen possibly stepping into center if needed. Were down to one backup back in Founa and maybe Gamble. Would be very surprised if we pulled from signing Oliver for that reason.

Agreed McIlwrick does his job - unfortunately it is badly. (A DH's job is more than defence).

Mc puts in way more effort than godinet and is a more clinical DH

I am willing to state that Cleary has forgotten more about footy than I know but I do not understand the faith shown in Godinet over McIlwrick. He is slow, inaccurate and average defensively. I’m missing something for sure. I’d be chasing another hooker as back up for Liddle

No he's not, went out and played some quality football at the end of last year when he said he was playing for his future. Not sure if Dean Pay coaches to his strengths either.

I agree Des cruelled Liccha, he looked good when he was allowed some freedom, don't know if it is Pay now or Liccha is the Dogs Tui, looks like he could be a star but does nothing to try be one.

Sege would be a massive upgrade, good foil for Liddle in the 17 and adequate cover when he is out.

Just noticed Kyle Turner is playing for the Bears this year and i was wondering if he would be any asset to the Tigers if we were to bring him in. I Believe he is a player that is easily first grade material. He played pretty well for the Rabbitohs over the last couple of years. what are your thoughts?
