Luke is on a good salary for what he has done so far. Whilst his improvement has been impressive, some of that is because we have spread our salary cap better amongst the team. How many years does he have left on his current contract? Isn't it another two?

Leaving is a decision he needs to make, but I wouldn't be offering any more cash as I think he is on what he is worth.

What is Brooks on..?

Off contract end 2019..wants to stay..

I am pretty sure it is $500K

Brooks is one of the lowest paid half backs in the comp.
I’m not to sure who our halves will be next year. I’d imagine it would be a similar situation to this year (if Benji continues and Reynolds is fit half the time). Going forward to into 2020 , I’d like Nathan 7 & Brooks 6\. All remains to be seen I guess, however I wouldn’t like to see Brooks leave the WestsTigers

No I don’t want him to leave either. I think he’s been one of our best this year and with the addition of a couple more signings to strengthen up our pack he’ll be even better. He’s within his rights to ask for an extension and I hope we give him one.

CULT WINGER ANTHONY DON TO MOVE TO SYDNEY?

"I’ve got some contract news regarding the Titan's cult figure winger Anthony Don," said Badel.

"I’m hearing he’s been asked to take a $60 000 pay cut to stay at Robina. It’s been a kick in the gut for a guy who’s been their best back last year, he was outstanding.

"He was hoping to stay on, Anthony, but he hasn’t ruled it out at this stage but I’m hearing that he’s got offers on the table from two clubs in Sydney: **the Wests Tigers and the Sharks.** He will make a call on Monday but at this stage unless the Titans tighten their offer, which I don’t think they’ll do, I think Anthony Don will face the prospect of leaving the Titans and moving to Sydney next season."

Where on earth would the Sharks fit him in?
Unless a few are going we don't know about yet.

Maybe they will release Holmes to the Cowboys if they can get Don

Obviously $$$$ are important in all of this , but I reckon given the choice I'd lean towards Feki over Don

Don does his job every week but lacks any x factor , Feki has more oomph coming out of your own half

That is very obviously important in IC's plans

If Brooks was going anywhere it would have happened last year imo

Brooks is a must keep. Great defensively, Hugely improved kicking game, great individual attack, improved game management. Pay him more and keep him. Sign him 4 years plus

Luke should get some fleecy underwear as the ESL is beckoning… the words game management and Luke Brooks should never be in the same sentence sorry..

Did you watch last weeks game? A year ago I would agree with you, but Ivan has transformed that part of his game.

Has anyone else noticed the past couple of weeks that Brooks is playing wider (2 passes off the ruck) and more like 5/8? Could it be they we are getting him ready for a positional move? Funnily enough with Nathan owning the number 7 Origin jersey for the foreseeable future, it would be his best chance at rep footy.

Not sure if I am imagining it but it’s a great conspiracy theory in any case.

That prospect did cross my mind early on ..but putting the club on notice with a year to run on your contract he obviously has clubs knocking on his door .

ESL? Huh? You're trolling right? He hasn't stepped a foot wrong all season

Weidler presented the story that way but it wasn't at all. Brooks answered a question about whether he wanted to stay and he gave his answer., In doing so, he came across as humble and a likeable young fellow, which reflected well upon him, his family and the club.

Disagree 100% - but no need to apologise! All opinions valid.

Yep - game management is his weakest skill but I’m saying I think it is improving quickly.

BUT - put him next to a natural game manager and you get a fast, attacking, skilful, strong defensive and excellent kicking half.

Well that’s what I think anyway!

I'd like to see this come 2020 kick off
7\. Nathan Cleary 6\. Luke Brooks

I wouldnt mind seeing that either but what do we do with Reynolds and the $750kish he's on. Hard to fit all 3 into the cap one will have to go. Cant see many clubs lining up to take Reynolds off our hands either.

I'd go the other way .. keep Brooks at 7 and put NC at 6 .. !! I think NC will be a brilliant number 6, he'll have more time to think about our/his attack plan, more time for his kicking game .. the kid has all the great makings of brilliant number 6 .. !!
