CULT WINGER ANTHONY DON TO MOVE TO SYDNEY?

"I’ve got some contract news regarding the Titan's cult figure winger Anthony Don," said Badel.

"I’m hearing he’s been asked to take a $60 000 pay cut to stay at Robina. It’s been a kick in the gut for a guy who’s been their best back last year, he was outstanding.

"He was hoping to stay on, Anthony, but he hasn’t ruled it out at this stage but I’m hearing that he’s got offers on the table from two clubs in Sydney: the Wests Tigers and the Sharks. He will make a call on Monday but at this stage unless the Titans tighten their offer, which I don’t think they’ll do, I think Anthony Don will face the prospect of leaving the Titans and moving to Sydney next season.

Agree with this.
Brooks is a 7.
Unfortunately people expect Brooks to play like Ash Taylor and can’t appreciate that he is more like Chad Townsend.
Doesn’t necessarily mean that one player is less capable than the other just that their role is different.
I ultimately believe a 6 is your most important player. Look at Souths, Cody walker and Cook are their attacking options.
Look at the Dragons, Storm, Sharks. There is a place for a Shane Perry in a team and Brooks is a perfect modern day version.

Tamou - AGHH. Can't stand him. Waste of space in my opinion. Laziest defender of anyone who's played Origin.
As for Brooks - he is a must keep. We've had him during his tough years. He is just beginning to come into his own. We need to have him on board during his approaching best years.
Need more forwards before Nathan Cleary. (But I wouldn't say no to him, just the same)!

I wouldn't mind Don, I reckon he'd go well here. Sharks circling though means they'll probably get him.

Dude, cheer up. We’re all negative at times, but you are negative nearly 24/7.
 
I feel like something is gonna give soon. We’ve been silent on the signing front since we announced Mbye. Which was well over a month ago now. I find it hard to believe that all the remaining spots in the squad will be taken up by “plodders”. I feel like one or two will have a bit of oomphh about them. Merrin and Don would fit that description.

I believe any new signing announcement before this year is done and dusted as far as our race for the 8, could/ would prove to be counterproductive.
