Almost eh…woooooooooooo

I'm not saying it's a good result, I'm saying that a team that finishes 9th has every reason to believe they can improve a little and play finals a year later.

Boosting the roster maked it potentially easier, but fundamentally the roster has shown it is capable.

Didn’t work when we finished 9th in 2016.

Since 2012, every time we've improved our ladder position we've followed it up with a lower position the following year.

I’m sure if we miss the finals another 2 or 3 consecutive years, the same old patience posts will still be coming thick and fast.

This is the first year I can remember when there isn’t at least one first grade player who was confirmed as coming our way in the next year.

That’s because they are still playing for teams in contention ….

Maybe? :bulb:

It would be the first time in history that quality first grade signings are announced after their side finished up. Doesn’t happen - and just look at all the other signings our competitors have made.

The difference is, these are allegedly still contracted to their club for next year. The losing club may not be keen to announce they have "released" a player who is about to play semis.

Has nothing to do with 2019.

I love your optimism, but it’s bizzare.

Nothing bizarre … JUST COMMON SENSE.
It’s been pointed out number of times by people who know thing or two about the signing developments at WT.
Just people on here Do Not Want to wait couple of weeks.
Bloody kids stuff.

Once again, it’s bizarre - this never happens.

And this year has nothing to do with 2019.

Ha ha. I've been accused of misguided optimism before, but this is pretty much what The POM said, and he's the best I've ever seen with inside knowledge.

Maybe next year's motto should be "Wests Tigers Get in Deep 2019"
home of the depth player plunging down the ladder.

or - "Wests Tigers - The NRL's Leyland Brothers. They'll travel anywhere around Australia ( and NZ )".

I seem to remember at the end of last year we believed the club would make another one or two signings due to clubs needing to offload players because they miscalculated the salary cap. Still waiting for those signings.

Far from factual, was once the norm for clubs to wait until players had finished their commitments before announcing their signing, it was the rise of social media feeding the rumour mill that fueled the trend of announcements before seasons end.

Another one that tickled my funny bone, though now that the big rock has burnt down, maybe WT will make a few less journeys and hire less journeymen to fill the ranks recently topped up again by dads army.

That would be the Mbye signing.

Good point, we need to standardise on a home ground - It’s killing it for me, I’d rather watch the game on tv than travel to some oversized, mostly empty, atmosphere negative stadium.
I love Leichhardt to death and I go to every single game there for the atmosphere and passion.
I would even compromise if it was Campbelltown, but steering a wide berth with ANZ, NZ etc.
Give us back our identity please.
