Modern day Wingers need Speed, Height and Strength…. 1/3 just won't cut it.

- 2 aggressive and powerful props - A Paasi, Vave, JW-H, Asofa-Solomona, Gillard
- aggressive and powerful 2nd rower - e.g. Taukeiaho, Hess, Papalii, Farrell, Kikau
- aggressive and powerful lock - e.g. Taumalolo, Taupau

if we cannot establish strong go forward everything else cannot be consistently effective even if we buy Cleary, Feki, Outs and Tupou.

Spot on! We need to be focusing on the pack first, backs second. We've made a good start signing Matterson, but let's hope there are more to come - at least one more backrower and a big aggressive prop that actually makes metres! We can't go into next season with Taylor at lock, we need more aggression and a bigger body at 13.

100%. I like Taylor but sadly But we need more size in the pack. I’d be looking at Twal to play lock next year. We separately need to purchase some size. We are still a prop and centre short at least next year.

Merrin has always had that build coming through the juniors and managed to play SOO with it. He has been through a very tough time off field and most would empathise with him. We have always been a club accepting of players wanting a new start and Merrin to me would bring a lot with him to our team. If he comes, I would be pleased.

I've got no problem with either Merrin or tamou signing with us for 1 year on low $$ only because we need fowards and due to higher quality fowards not wanting to come here it should fill the need for time being and try and sign a outside back for next season. Hopefully feki. Then we will improve enough to hopefully make the finals next year then imo higher quality fowards for the following year because I think if we make the finals next year we will be a more attractive destination

CHN was the forward to get from the Panthers. Matterson softened the blow of missing him though. Still feel we need a backrower with some aggression though.
