Gus was only just telling anyone who would listen that they would be focusing on juniors and promoting from within. They have since signed Katauga, Sexton, Sullivan and have spoken to Taaffe and Tino. Can't begrudge him that but it's another example of Gus lying through his teeth.

Sad thing is I would take just about all the players from above at the Tigers at the moment. Tigers management are getting totally outmanoeuvred by Gus.

Those players are top shelf. Ok Sullivan/sexton are first graders... Taaffe and Tino are top shelf quality.

Ivan Cleary's big failure here was the "big 17" we signed so many players that were second tier and the stars we signed like Reynolds and Packer were second tier stars.

There is a marked difference in quality between the top players and the next level below.

Reality is we have zero bargaining power at the moment if we want quality = we pay overs for players we need & they know it.

We have to pay overs. We know this. Everyone at the club should know this. We're a laughing stock, no decent player will come near us. One of the very few things we have to offer is money. We have to outbid all the other clubs. It's the only option, other than capitulation

I don't know if he will be here or not but jeez he must be feeling the heat even with Sheens being the one fronting the media at the moment.

The way things are currently going, I'm thinking that 3 spoons in a row is pretty much on the cards unless something pretty dramatic happens and believe me I've never wanted to be more wrong.

Pretty sure that Benji thought he was going to be a big recruitment magnet and things were all going to fall into place and he would have a team of super stars by the time he took over in 2025 backed up by a stack of quality juniors closely following, but that looks to be a dream that has turned into a nightmare.

I guess our big hope now is that some of these juniors are able to come through and step up and then of course we have the problem that if any of them look like fulfilling their potential, staving off the opposition to retain them.

I see lodge has joined manly , NOW I know some hate this man , but gee he would have been a great signing for us as a prop or even as a ball playing lock but again we don’t even try ( I don’t actually know if we tried ) but I doubt we did

He hates us after the fall out from that New York episode when we showed him the door and I don't think there is any way that he would come back here.

Taaffe can do what he likes. But he's about 6th in line at the Rabbitohs next season with Wighton coming in. And possibly moves up to 5th in line at the Bulldogs.

Or he can win a wooden spoon with us. 🤔
