I think we should make a very attractive offer to Tedesco before Roosters resign him. Something along the lines of Latrells offer, 5 years or more. The fact the Roosters are looking at Suali should raise concern of Teddys long term future. Cant hurt?

I suggested this months ago and got shot down. Yet the same people who shot me down still think Harry will stay after he’s confirmed over and over that he’s going back to the Storm

With Tedesco, I’d withdraw the offer to JAC and off Teddy 1.5 million, a position on the board, stakes in the club, anything it took to bring him back. Won’t happen, but it doesn’t hurt to dream.

We will not get tedesco unfortunately I wish we could though.
Why can't we load up the big offer for Grant make it hard for him to take a melbourne offer.

because until smith retires there is nothing to offer for next year....and Grant has to say he is returning because he is obligated to.

But come nov 1 there is nothing to stop us loading up a contract for him for 2022....

Isn't he already contracted for 2022

I thought it was only for next year but had a clause to get a release if smith played on??

I could very well be mistaken....

He does have a clause, but just because it’s there doesn’t mean he’ll automatically activate it. The appeal of being apart of a premiership winning side probably negates Smith playing on.

I get it GNR4LIFE you don't rate Grant a SOO player and would be satisfied with Liddle and putting the money elsewhere

Now you're just making stuff up - i never saw anywhere that GNR doesn't rate Grant. what i have seen is the fact that he keeps saying Grant is contracted to Melbourne until the end of 2022 and he ( Grant ) has constantly said he is returning to Melbourne. Your obsession with Grant is way over the top.

Mate i could say Liddle is the greatest you would not agree with me
if my comments bother you then don't respond to them and have yourself a nice day

So you’re on a forum and asking people not to reply if they don’t agree with you?

Will keep on repeating this - I don't think people truly understand how good Grant is. If it helps the loss, call it over the top.

I am a huge fan of Liddle, and while people have been calling for us to cut him through all his injuries I've always wanted us to persist with him. He has shown he is a very good player whenever he has been on the field for us. Totally happy with him owning that jersey, and seeing what Simpkin can do.

But Grant is different class.

I hold no hope of him sticking with us at all, and do agree it's not a position we are in desperate need of - however I don't think it's a given he will be in Melbourne. Yes he has said it, but that's because his contract currently says that. I just can't see him and Brandon Smith playing 2nd fiddle to the GOAT Smith.

If Cam Smith plays on, and Grant truly enjoyed his time with us - another year loan doesn't sound farfetched to me.

Grant is good, but I think he was seriously overplaying his hand towards the end of the year. I am not going to say Liddle is better, but he is good.

Smith was a dominant player at Melbourne, but he was smart and subtle (right place, right time, right decision). Grant looked almost desperate at times and took too much on himself rather than feeding others.

in relation to you an me we do not agree on anything if one if us think the sky is blue then the other would go out and check it.

This is another myth IMO.

Every great player tries to overplay their hand when their team is going terrible, and you'd notice those were the only times - when we looked like an absolute mess. Lets not forget, this is his rookie season....

Grant won't be doing that at good clubs.

Scary how good he is. But I get why some people can't accept it, he's not ours.

Was still our best player by a good margin, if he wasn’t jumping out of Hooker and creating things we would’ve gone even worse. The kid is a freak and will be origin hooker for a long while, they’d be stupid to pick friend or hunt over him

Completely agree. If he was at a better club he wouldn’t have to be as involved in literally everything because the team would actually perform. Doesn’t take away from how damn good he is and what a massive difference he made for us.

I want the tigers to succeed and if that is with Liddle as starting hooker great, do think Simpkin will be the better option in the end.
So then we shouldnt even make a play for Grant as we dont need him then, Liddle will do the same job ?

There must be 200 posts about Harry vs Liddle.... catching up to posts about Paps now 😂 I think we know everyone’s opinions

Posts like this show your lack of maturity. Because people back Liddle you try to make out we think he”s better than Grant. We’re actually because he will be next year and Grant won’t.

I want the tigers to succeed and if that is with Liddle as starting hooker great, do think Simpkin will be the better option in the end.
So then we shouldnt even make a play for Grant as we dont need him then, Liddle will do the same job ?

We, or should I say you, need to let Grant go.

I'm not giving up that we dont get him long term for 2022 pending if we get JAC or not. But yes agree he will not be here for 2021 as it stands, at present we have Liddle and Simpkin for 2021 it is a downgrade but hopefully we manage

Assuming we could get Rusty medically retired his $800k would be enough to get Crichton, either way we could I guess just go after him from 2022 on
Maguire brought him into first grade and coached him his first two years
There'd have to be some possibility I'd have thought

Would the 670k be enough - it was not 800k.

Yep good point, I had read "earning over $650k per season" previously, think I must have got conditioned to the $800k by ongoing posts

Dude, how many times do you need to be told he’s contracted for 2022. And what does getting JAC have to do with it. Yet another thing you always go one about.

Fine if we do not get him for 2022 then I am massively wrong, but who I was talking to at the club said we were looking shaky for JAC and looking to make a big play for Grant for 2022.

**Your obsession with Grant is way over the top**.

Was still our best player by a good margin, if he wasn’t jumping out of Hooker and creating things we would’ve gone even worse. The kid is a freak and will be origin hooker for a long while, they’d be stupid to pick friend or hunt over him

The sad thing is Grant was not named our best player, a SOO player and probably test player too yet he didn't get out player of the year

To be fair it’s off a points system and he missed a couple weeks due to injury. Nofa didn’t miss a game I think and was always very good.

Fair point Nofo had his best year ever it is just hard to work out given in the dally m points Nofo had 6 points and Grant 15 or something like that.
I get Nofo is loved by the playing group but Grant was a gun for us
