Let's see how our 2021 roster looks before we start slashing our wrists. McIntyre looks to have left us for slightly better money and life on the Gold Coast. Doubt he'll be used by Titans as anything but an occasional backup but good luck to the kid anyway

Looks exactly like he has grabbed a handful of extra money and by all reports Ive seen, not even a longer deal and will probably be a benchy at best. Might not have done his career any good. But his new manager bumped up his 7%.

Every report i have seen says we were offering a 1 year extension while GC were offering 2 years on slightly more money.

This is uncharted times for all teams, including us.
Salary cap changing.
Late season finish.
Almost straight back into preseason training.
Recruitment being strategised.(very cool and focused)
No more Me Nice Guy attitude - performance is our bottom line.
Old dead wood getting removed.
The only thing I can staying the same is our PASSION.

I'd suggest that you got that information from posts here, supposedly from those "in the know" or with a narrative to push.

The single fact provided so far states that he signed with Titans for 1 year according to the Titans news release. https://www.titans.com.au/news/2020/11/16/mcintyre-joins-titans-for-2021/

We should take a leaf out of the dogs book to land signings. The way they landed Luke Thompson they flew over there to get the contract signed.

The player himself has been a bit of a flop so far but half the NRL was trying to sign him but they got it done.

I wish we could do that with anyone decent.

Why would we take a leaf out of the book of a team that has finished below us on the ladder 3 years straight?

Because they'll finish above us next year.

Will they??

As the rosters currently stand they'll finish above us. If they get Burton and Leniu as reported, they'll finish well ahead of us.

You think the bulldogs roster is better than ours? They won 3 games last year and have not improved all that much. Clearly we haven’t improved much either that’s a different point but on paper we are better than them for sure.

We won 2 of our last 10, conceding on average over 30 points per game. Our best player (Grant) is gone, McIntyre is gone, Eisenhuth is gone (and whilst a plodder was defensively very good and made consistent metres) and Taylor is gone. We've gotten Tamou (good signing) and Stefano (who didn't look ready for first grade).

They have bought Flanagan, Hetherington and Cotric. Last time we played we won 29-28 and were lucky to win.

Yes, I think as it currently stands they'll finish above us. The way the rosters are as of today we'll be fortunate not to come last.

Last years results don’t directly affect this years results, most of those losses were against top 8 teams too we had a horror finish to the season it’s really impossible to know how both teams will improve

Grant is the only real loss. The others are solid players but have been replaced bar McIntyre (at this point) their roster is still garbage and worse than ours

So let me ask you this. If our roster stays the same, what teams do you think we'll finish ahead of?

Not that many it’ll be another 9th-12th finish. I don’t think it’ll be a good year for us ?

Name the teams specifically who you think we'll finish ahead of.

Bulldogs. Dragons. Broncos. Cowboys. Possibly manly depending on how much Turbo plays. Like I said you can never tell, Penrith came 10th in 2019 and 1st in 2020 so ya never know but this is my guess.

Can’t see it happening. We need to make a couple of key signings otherwise I think we’ll finish last.

Not many players available who are key signings. We’ll have to wait and see who fills those final spots.

Exactly, and that’s my point. We’ve let players go and haven’t thought to replace them.

Seriously please!!!

No i got in an article in the Gold Coast bulletin about the signing.

"Titans sign Keegan Hipgrave replacement: Zero error Tigers rookie Sam McIntyre

The Gold Coast Titans have moved swiftly to replace departing forward Keegan Hipgrave by securing a promising Wests Tigers rookie on a two-year contract.

Fair enough, I can only go on the Titans release.

Also

The 22-year-old forward played 12 matches for the Tigers in 2020, including two starts in the second row, but declined a one-year extension at Wests to sign Gold Coast’s longer deal.

All this angst over aa bloke who set a club record for most missed tackles by a forward in half a game of football and then played 14 minutes the next week without touching the ball.
Negative Nancys on here will moan about anything apparently.

You don’t get it do you.....it’s nothing to do with his ability, it’s the fact the club stuffed up. They had a contract for him, he wanted to sign and someone stuffed up. Now imagine that we were talking a marquee signing. Madge told him he wanted him and there had been a stuff up. Reeks of the original JAC stuff up all those years ago.

Okay you might be right and we are better off without him, but the fact remains once again the club stuffed up

Ah! Avo you forgot the Benji factor.

Now that we h ave got rid of it....skys the limit. Lol

The good news is Paul Momirovski is returning. We could have used his brains and football nous in the Panther's game. A believe he will have a positive impact on the team.

All hype but will he make first grade early next year?

I reckon he’ll come off the bench round 1

Fact? Not sure that it means what you think it means. Can you point me in the direction of evidence of these facts?

McIntyre would you believe cost less than Hipgrave and probably be available more often. Good roster management?
