How can anyone reject Packer, bargain, and the best dummy running prop ever?

I think Packer will be in the coaching staff next year , or in the back room somewhere . A really smart bloke , who has a lot to offer ... if not on the footy field anymore

Smart all right! I think I read somewhere that he works, or has a job lined up, as a Project Manager for Meriton

With Ofahengaue looking very likely, I thought I may as well do a potential lineup for next year and here’s the one I’ve come up with

1. Daine Laurie* / Moses Mbye

2. David Nofoaluma

3. Joey Leilua

4. James Roberts

5. Asu Kepaoa

6. Adam Doueihi

7. Luke Brooks

8. James Tamou

9. Jake Simpkin / Jacob Liddle

10. Alex Twal

11. Luciano Leilua

12. Shawn Blore

13. Joe Ofahengaue

14. Tommy Talau

15. Thomas Mikaele

16. Zane Musgrove

17. Stefano Utoikamanu

I’ve went with an unpopular choice of having Talau coming off the bench. Mainly because of his versatility from 1-6 and the ability to be a roaming lock, similar to Stephen Crichton for the Panthers earlier in the year

The outside backs really excite me. There’s some young talent mixed with the experience. I’m tipping Brooks to have the best year of his career now that he can take control of the team without having Benji. It’ll certainly help him with the forward pack we’re building. Doueihi at 5/8 will be very good to watch. For me he would play a similar style to Jack Wighton there. Simpkin and Liddle would have to be the favourites for the hooker role as it stands which does excite me. Fingers crossed we can get Daine Laurie a year early

Looks much better than a little over a week ago. Agree with the idea of Joe O at lock. More happenings to take place in the back row before the season starts I think. Hopefully we get lucky and Laurie comes in with Mbye to the 14 jersey.

Idk if it’s been mentioned, but Penrith’s negotiations with Stephen Crichton have stalled. Assuming we get Joe O, and maybe Siro, I’d be making him one hell of an offer for 2022. We have a truckload to spend, and apparently have the ability to offload BJ. I’d almost make him priority number 1.

Should definitely be making a big play to get him.
I get the feeling he and his manager are going to overvalue him though.

At least he has the capability of getting a decent job post football

Not unpopular with me, I think he’s a great choice for utility off the bench. I still think he is a star in the making, people expect too much too soon sometimes. Good looking team by the way, hopefully the Joe O signing will come off 👍

Video on Facebook with JAC saying he will be at the dogs next year

Do we really want JAC the following year, you have to wonder?
Wanted additional coin for a position never played, left the club prior, everything on his terms not the clubs.

Sorry FINNZO,but our backline leaked like a sieve,Mybe is like a roundabout, just go around him.

Mbye has a lot of faults but his defense was pretty good.

Agree. There was that one game against Souths, but there were some possible reasons for that, and he wasn't alone. Generally I think his defence in the centres has been strong.

He does have a tendency to continually rush out of the line and miss a player altogether expose the winger and make him then come in, Better playing him Fullback or utility we have better centres now with Momo also coming back.

Madge is building a young competitive side for 2022 and beyond you have to go with Youth that want an opportunity.

Sam Ayoub amused by Ivan thinking he sealed the deal with handshake. They are going to have to come up with a lot more than what they bargained for.

Good review however a few points of form last season.

1. Mybe - His form overall not great
3. Joey Leilua - Other Centres Talau/Momo
4. Roberts and BJ - Both defensive liabilities
7. Brooks - Nil excuses not to step up anymore
10. Twal - Very average last season - prefer Bench

Would fit Garner in there somewhere runs gores lines and can sniff out a try could be a good utility player option.

Jimmy will be playing round one if fit. Anyone who thinks he was signed for depth is dreaming.

Still need to address two spots prior to March. If Offa is one, there's still another. And if Aloiai gets released he too needs to be replaced. I am seriously wondering that Offa is there to counter Aloiai being kept on. Maybe the club is going to stick to their guns and let him waste in reserves unless Manly come to the party.

Also Seyfarth is a maybe but if we are signing Offa I would not bother with Seyfarth and target another second rower. We really need another quality second rower. The only other position I would seriously target is fullback, but if that is what Laurie has been signed on for maybe Mbye will have to do there.

I’m sorta of excited to swap JA for young Sirro, maybe a bit better than like for like for us.
Should be raiding either the Broncos or the Panthers, plenty of talent in both.

I wouldn't think we'd start with Tamou and Twal - we'd be better splitting them up and having one come from the bench to help keep the middle tight for the full 80. Tamou to start and Twal from the bench. Musgrove to start with Tamou and Mikaele on the bench with Twal - both have it in them to be hard runners and that's what we'll need from them.

Haven't seen enough of Utoikamanu to know if he warrants a spot in the 17 ahead of any of Tamou/Twal/Musgrove or Mikaele.

To be fair to Twal, he was injured a lot of last season.
