I'm a huge fan of Crichton for his athleticism alone, and think his versatility would be a bonus. But no offence 900K a year is a bit much.
Forget using Packer and Mbye for comparison of his contract value, think we should be likening it to other marquee signings. To the Munsters, Grants or Teddys of the game.
Plus what would his next contract be worth if he's earning up to this much after only 1 year of good footy?

I’d be happy with crichton, but his too young and undeveloped to be throwing that kind of cash on. This stems for one of those ageing contracts where he gets paid more as time goes on with more club favours

I don’t know he had to work bloody hard for a rookie this year and made things look easy in one of the toughest positions on the park. He was solid in defense as well. The kid is a talent. If we were throwing 600k+ and JAC, this kid is worth just as much.

That's fullback money. Meaning Laurie will be going into 5/8 and Douehi into centre.

Young line up, but talented and exciting if true.

I think to some extent players are like company shares, in that you buy low and sell high. That makes Teddy less attractive. OTOH, he does carry the title of worlds best and at the age of 27. I would make chooks work for it, we could offer 3yrs at $1m with 2 yrs CO?
Or a preferred option would be Crichton with a starting offer at $700k x 5yrs?

I’d love him back, but it’s a pipe dream. He’s a latte sipper for life. The one that’s realistic would be Woods coming back and retiring as a Tiger. That could happen. But given how far he’s regressed and his disgraceful act of throwing the club under the bus as captain, I wouldn’t want him back. Unforgivable.
