Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Wonder who will be the captain round 1? I thought Tamou did quite well for Penrith this year and should be at the top of our list.

He's a pretty quiet captain and also brand new to the team and likely to spend a lot of time off the field in our prop rotation

Not Mbye either, he has shown little leadership and needs to concentrate on getting his own game up to scratch

In terms of competitors, I'd seriously consider Adam Douehi as captain. It could be a real long term thing which would be a real positive, plus I struggle to come up with another viable option

Pre-season starts today. I wonder if Tamou rocks up, or is still a few weeks away. The GF was 5 weeks ago.

Wonder if the same for joe ofhan

Would he be down? Or would he have to quarantine since he came down from QLD

With Reynolds and Packers money I would go all out in 2022 for Staggs or Crighton and Victor Radley.

With Laurie signed would not waste my time pursuing JAC.

We are still short a prop and a back rower

Back rower yeah but we’ve got a good amount of middle forwards.... Twal, Tamou, Musgrove, Ofa, Packer, Mikaele, Stefano, even Seyfarth as last resort.

Definitely need to sign a second rower for depth.

corrected for you:

Hope we will not be that desperate that we need Packer.

You watch Packer have a go this year are it’s a contract year for him, hopefully his last at WT.

Dale Copley apparently is returning to the Broncos.

Broncos making some weird signings. They’re trying to make up for their lack of experience but aren’t signing good players instead looking at Copley, Mead and Kelly. We needed experience so we signed Penriths captain/starting prop

Staggs would be incredible. Wonder if there's a chance there.

Radley is out of this world. There is no way on earth Roosters would let him go.

If the rumors are true and Tigers are interested in Scott Sorensen then I'm all for it. Real hard working defensively sound edge forward. Would be a decent pairing in the backrow with Lucy.

Excellent off-season recruitment so far.
**We still need a kicker.**
And a creative, kicking halves player.
The latter might have to wait.

Momo and Doueihi weren’t bad goal kickers but does Momo even make the 17?

Radley would be a top replacement for Garner. Wests Tigers could well afford this almost marquee signing for 2022. I 100% agree with you re JAC. Wests Tigers should not give home the time of day following the months long circus he conducted with the club.

Hey I saw a few people saying they saw their best of mbye this year in a couple games at FB, do we reckon its gonna be his all year next year?

EDIT: And wheres Douehi playing? I thought he was at his best in centres, doesnt have the pace for FB, lost us a lot of metres with the kick returns, BUT havnt seen him at 5/8 for a full game, keen to see that tbh. Wonder what Madge is up to, seeing as Jock Maddens incoming in FG as well

Mbye is our best Fullback, I think Doueihi has the makings of an excellent centre. He looked great playing at 5/8th in the last round so I would like to see him training there in the offseason and given the trials to see how he will go.

I'd love him to be our fulltime 5/8 IF he can perform there tbh, big unit, slippery for some reason even tho his quite slow

Didn't look slow when he chased JAC down and caught him on the line to no avail.

HE definitely had some moments, I'm just referring to his FB games where it took him a minute to run the ball back off 5th tackle kicks tbh

You were saying earlier that he was really slow - I'm sure you realise that he was injured in a lot of the games he played.

I was just pointing out it was JAC he was trying to run down and not Napa or Klemmer.

I think he is not slow - just gives that impression because of his height and the way he generally moves. Many of the tall guys give off the same vibe e.g. Lomax, Momo, Ponga etc.etc.

Fully fit he will stretch out to our advantage - not saying he is a JAC but he is no slouch.

They aren’t even near good enough if we want to be serious.
Momo does not make my 17.

I’ll put my house on he and Mbye being co-captains.

Let's hope not.

Mbye couldn't captain a paper boat sailing down a gutter.

Love AD - but he needs to work on his own game and what he brings to the team.

Tamou is the obvious captain - I would make Brooks vice captain to take over when Jimmy is off the field, could be a good slow way of bringing him on and make him use his voice more. If they don't do what he says he could threaten to punch them out!
