I read that Zac Cini was at Penrith headquarters looking around. Most likely a possible swap Cini/Laurie.

Sensible move if true. Kei and Rizk are a better fit for WTs.

Yeah they get a centre and we get a fullback. He's a Panthers junior so makes sense. Liking the way we are recruiting these days. What a difference.

It also has zero impact on out top 30 numbers which is smart.

Your right about that. I was worried if Laurie was our 29th player that would leave one spot for most likely a 2nd rower. If we did that though we'd miss out on any possible bargain pick ups all the way to June the 30th.

Laurie 28th
2nd rower 29th.
30th pick save it. We have until June the 30 to fill it. We will get something good by then.

I think the plan is to keep both spots vacant until then unless something pops up. A breakout year is expected from Blore

Heard anything about this Cini/Laurie thing? It would be a great move for us.

This is from a Panthers supporter.

"FWIW apparently Zac Cini was seen at Penrith headquarters yesterday. Highly rated panthers Jnr outside back who Ivan brought to the Tigers. Wonder if that’s the swap with Laurie?

They think it will most likely happen.

If he’s touring the place then there’s definitely some interest from Penrith. Makes sense for us, we’ve got lots of centres and the sooner we get Laurie the better, makes sense for them too. Win-win

I really rate cini and think he’s going to be a quality centre but with talau and kei earmarked as our future centre paring I can’t see room for him...he’ll kill it at Penrith that’s for sure but Laurie is more valuable to us as he plays in a position where we have limited depth

I agree - the Cini for Laurie move sounds good business for both parties. With a question mark over Naden's immediate future, another centre would be a big plus for Penrith. And we all know about our fullback woes.

Sounds like a really good swap for us, with the only downside being that Penrith gain out of it as well.

That's what makes it so sppealing plus he is a Panther's cub. You can't go screwring over other clubs. We want the reputation of being professional in our dealings. Player managers will soon realise we are professional and expect the same in return.

Can’t keep them all unfortunately so a deal like this makes sense if it’s true and happens

I have heard good reports as well as some not so good, can anyone who has seen a lot of this kid give us an opinion?

Penrith would only gain out if only as much as Wests Tigers will. We have a lot of young centres such as Hoffman who are still maturing.

Buzz Rothfield reporting that Musgrove ‘is keen to secure a longer term deal at St George Illawarra’

Think Musgrove will go good for us and I hope we can keep him. Madge stuck by him though two different court incidents, hope he can repay the favour and stick with us.

Rothfield seems to think (and I'm being generous even assuming he has any brain cells left to think with) that just because Musgrove may be considering other possible playing options beyond 2021, that that means he's virtually out the door already. Probably just his agent trying to prod the club into thinking about an extension beyond next year.

Could definitely just be that, we’ll have to wait and see. Would definitely like to keep him

He hasn't even proved himself enough yet. In the games he did play he was amazing. Also, dragons are going for a bloke who has played a couple games in 2020 (They also signed Jack Bird SMH poor signings team). Tigers have saved him i reckon he would be in SL if tigers didn't sign him but I bloody love him. Whatta buy

People are also saying he was meeting up with old mates but like really. At there teams HQ. Albert Hopoate also got spotted looking around raiders, couple weeks later he's signed. And If Cini/Laurie swap I'm down sounds good.

The slothield article has the heading “Another Tiger Wants Out”

Then he just posts a rumour under the Shoosh heading. Gutter journalism if you ask me.

Shoosh
Wests Tigers could be about to lose another key forward. Front-rower Zane Musgrove is under contract until the end of next season, but he is keen to secure a longer deal at St George Illawarra.

Packer won't see FG unless Tamou, Musgrove, Joe O, Mikaele and Twal go down with injury. Hell, Seyfarth will see more FG than Porker.

I agree, seems as though the Tigers will simply take their medicine and wait Packer out.

Hodgo may have learnt a bit from Iv .....sign Packer ,Benji , Reynolds , Mbye and then beat a hasty retreat under the Channel and a waiting fat check from Harry T

Turns out Hodgo might be the best signing we have ever had
Maybe Hodgo was planted at Hull Fc so he can sign all our plodders
I wonder if he is still on our books

On a serious note, he knows our guys and although they may not be the best players around the Nrl, a few of them would kill it over there
Mbye, Reynolds and even Packer if he could get a visa would all be great Signings for Hull
Especially if they can stay fit

I love the way people talk about ESL. It is like when you eat half your food and just scrape it into the dogs bowl. Your happy and the dogs happy.
