If Cheese was elligible for the Blues, I'd have had him over the Parra pretender on the bench any day.

I'm curious myself, if Brandon Smith is such a good hooker, why Storm are allowing him to field offers and instead keep Harry Grant.

Does this mean Storm consider Harry a better hooker than Cheese?

I reckon Cheese is one of the better non-prop locks going around, him and Victor Radley. No idea why the bloke is so dead-set on playing FT hooker.

He’s a top 5 hooker in the NRL all signs point to Harry Grant being the best over the next 10 years.
Issue is price vs the potential of Simpkin. If you have a chance due to Madge’s relationship as NZ coach you have to take it. Simple as that. He’s wasted at lock albeit he’s damaging.

Mate , chuck 100 on Simpkins being there as well . He was rated higher than grant coming through . Not saying he will surpass him in the top grade , but the wraps on This kid are no joke . I saw a CC cup game last year with him in , and he was carving up men, at 18 . He’s going to be special .

before the 2020 season i would gave said Simpkins was 18 months behind Grant

Again not much on the market and we’ve already got 3 spots open. No real point in letting him go unless we’re sure we get something back, not like he’s on big coin

Then we need to tell Liddle and Simpkin "listen boys, you are going down in the pecking order behind Brandon Smith. Just hang around, don't be looking to sign anywhere else, and if he gets injured, you might get a run in the top grade."

I think we should sign Mansour, Widdop & Sironen to finalise our 2021 squad. It looks like we won’t be getting Laurie so I would be putting Widdop at 1 & won’t cost too much either he also provides improved goal kicking & experience. He could also rotate with Douiehi if necessary. Mansour would be our best left winger for sure & Sironen would come in for Garner.

Not a bad squad & definitely capable of making the top eight with plenty of depth.

Stick with Liddle & Simpkins and wait for that elite signings that get us into the top 4 dont waste money for just above average players like Smith when we a defeating our strategy of high calibre youth comming thru our ranks mixed wjth experience like Tamou. Staggs, munster, ado carr ,crichton

Smith is a proven talent isn't he. I also feel though a little unsure about getting him. I just reckon we had Harry for a year and the Storm appear to be picking Harry over Smith. We had Harry but we weren't great plus we have some good young hookers coming through.

A fullback, lock forward or an edge backrower would be great for us.

I reckon Smith is unreal. It's just a matter of what is the right purchase for our squad.

Mansour, Widdop & Sironen

I could understand Sironen but Mansour and Widdop to me are not smart signings. The next point is how do you get these guys. I can't see Manly releasing Sironen.

I'd prefer to see what comes on the market and if we can only get guys at a lower level of quality sign them on 1 year contracts.

Smith would be great - as a lock. Hooker is not, in my opinion, our most pressing problem.
Second row and fullback, remain bigger issues.
We need to strengthen these spots before adding a hooker to our roster, when we already have that position well covered.
