Agree with all your comments, and as i said along with others i have hope. But to be realistic to think that all of these problems will be fixed next year is stretching common sense.Ive said repeatedly that recruitment has been good and not many quality players around in those positions.I expect they are guarding the dollars for 2022 key players, and they will nurse the side this year hoping for the 8 .

We need a really strong year, otherwise, it won't matter how much money we have!

Yep if we finish 13th -16th we will struggle to get top talent ....really is a crucial season no matter what way you look at it

At this point in time Mbye is first choice fullback. We don’t really have anyone else who can play that role besides Doueihi and he’s out 5/8. It’s a bit of a worry that we don’t have much depth there, Mbye has had a lot of knee issues.

Our spine on paper is the worst in the NRL, find me a worse one

Bulldogs, Titans, Dragons, Warriors...

Brimson is a beast

Yep but their halves are still hit and miss and they have no DH.

Fogarty is a talent as well

But i do agree, no hooker and taylor is a miss

If they get brandon smith...genuine premier threat 2021

Fogarty was good last year but I will wait and see how he goes in his 2nd full year.

Bloody oath we do mate ay! Hopefully we have a big season we have done well changing the way we approach our recruitment and haven’t done too bad at that this offseason so far if we can have a good season I think a lot of players will be willing to come to us in future years

Getting B.Smith will be the difference between us being a top 4 side or being a bottom 8 side for the next 10 years.
Imo we can't wait 3yrs to see if one of our current 9s is a rep player then go looking for one if they're not.

This is the biggest get the club could pull off for a long time

Disagree - he is not as good a DH as Liddle - good at a lot of other things but his passing from the ruck is rank.

Thats why he plays for NZ and Liddle struggles to make a side that has finished out of the 8 for 2 decades

If you think Smiths passing from the ruck, or speed from the ruck is better than Liddle - you are delusional.

Besides Liddle can't play for NZ - he is not a NZ'er.

If you think Liddle is a better player you're beyond delusional

So why has he played for the jr Kiwis, New Zealand and New Zealand Maori if he's not a Kiwi?

Liddle was an Aust Schoolboy star. He has been sought after by Manly, Canterbury and ironically the Storm but always stuck with WTs. Smith is a fine player but more a running and impact forward. Liddle has a great pass from dummy half and is super quick.

Lot's of Australian schoolboy stars now laying pipes on the side of the road. Schoolboy stars are a dime a dozen and don't matter once you hit the NRL.
I have a great pass and I'm super quick too.
I'll take Smith over Liddle in any position, different league of player.

No doubt this new recruitment team we have will be looking at players, especially backs, availiable at all clubs in all grades.Witch is where we fell down peviously with panicky signings, and ending up with a poor roster.

Fogerty and Taylor (at 6 with Fogerty) are much better than Brooks and unproven AD. Brimson is miles ahead of MBye and Rein is a more accomplished and durable 9 than Liddle

Taylor was one of and still the highest paid 7 in the game and has been bagged from pillar to post. I think Liddle and simkins will be standouts, especially with our re-vamped forward pack.

I'd probably kick at 30% ?

If we sign Croft, I’ll eat a god damn pinecone. People don’t rate Brooks and they want to bring in his Queensland born twin like he’ll do any better. Remember back to a game between us and storm maybe 2 years ago that we won, he was the worst player on the pitch by some stretch and got pulled with 20 minutes to go. If I was In the media and read this forum, I’d make fun of us too for takes like that

How do you know that Fogerty and Taylor are better than Brooks and Doueihi, when you state that they’re unproven.
That’s like saying the puppies are brown before they’re born.

Would rather Steven Crichton than Coates. Squad balance and upside.

And Brooks is Brooks, no super forward pack is going to turn him into Andrew Johns.

Honestly we need to be going hard after Angus Crichton. Forget Mansour etc.
A right edge of Douehi, Crichton, Roberts and Nofa would be top 4 stuff

Agree, Rorters don't let many good ones go though. Jayden Sua / Hudson Young more realistic choices. Both off-contract 2022, throw 650 at Jayden and 500 at Hudson, 3 plus 1 year in the club's favour with incentives. Both are young and are footballers, clubs won/t want to lose them but money talks.

I feel as if that doesn't do us any favours. Luc is just as good as them if not better. If we don't go after huge names like Crichton we should be going after young, cheap talent. Paying mid tier players big money is where this club keeps going wrong. The Roosters and the Storm are just a team of superstars and then very low wage players who play way above their salary. That's the key to winning

Agree with what you are saying and I'm not saying get both. But I do think either will be exceptional players and their next contract will be their first opportunity at a decent contract. Get in early before they become the next Angus...

No guarantee they do become the next Crichton though. I'd rather spend the money on a known superstar than spend 500-650k on someone decent. If you want to take a punt on a a player with upside go looking for other Luc Leilua's and get then on 200k

Rumour Talau to Manly, don't know how true this is.

A lot of the western suburb boys are going there do they even have a junior base

Who's gone there?

A lot of Westfield boys

Shuster - **Josh Schuster**
The 9 that banned - **Manase Fainu**
The centre who was with us - **Moses Suli**
The winger from saints - **Jason Saab**

Probably few more bad with names

There's some names for you.

Erin Moylan might be able to help with the rest

Whilst I like and rate AD he's unproven at 6 yet. Burton (maybe 2022), Norman, Taylor (playing 6 outside of a controlling 7) and Harris-Tevita are all more proven 6's
I'd have any of Flanagan, Fogerty, Hunt or Kodi Nikorima instead of Brooks
And lastly at hooker we are ahead of the dogs, probably on par with Titans and Warriors with Rein and Jazz Tevanga and miles behind the Dragons with McInnis

But Liddle isn't laying pipes or digging ditches. To come back from such a severe injury and perform so well is a high achievement. Comparing Liddle and Smith won't get you far as they are different types of player. If Smith were at our club there is every indication he would be played from the interchange as a running impact forward. Liddle and Simpkin would still be our hookers.

For me, Liddle is a future Captain. He is articulate and in every interview I have heard, he is impressive.
