Our forwards looking ok, our priorities are every other position ,

We are looking good on middle forwards but second rowers are where Old Mother Hubbard is. We really only have three realistic starters in Luci, Garner & Blore, after that it’s MCK, Seyfarth and a promoted development kid

Agree, unless one of our own "Blore" or others jumps out of the box the pickings are slim.
Crighton, Mcinness, Fincunne, Yeo and Harris are top shelf but will be hard to remove from their current sides. More realistic and established players would be B Smith, Sironen, Sua, Capewell, Peachey, Fitzgibbon, who are all off contract next year.
That leads me to the players lacking opportunity / limited minutes players, ie Young, Niukora, Butcher x Brothers, J Curran Bunty Afoa and S Talakai.

Now for out of the box players C Watson, would cover full-back, hooker, and 5/8 and eventually to be a roving ball distributing lock. Injuries cruelled him last year, achilles I think, but this kid 24 years, 90kgs, and a threat with the ball. Could he handle the middle, he started 7 times at 9 for 80 minutes except once in 2019 for the Knights yes he can. Size/weight too small, anyone heard of Murray and Radley they go alright, he would only need to play 65min, covers hooker, "and still a threat" this allows Madge a different dimension to our bench. 2 years with a third in the club's favour at 500 with KPI's, worst case we have a much better version of Mybe sitting at 14 at half the price.
Cheaper than B Smith but would allow us to have cover before deciding which hooker going forward Liddle/Simpkin as I dont think we will able to keep both

I'd rather give Mbye a go at lock than waste money and a roster spot on Watson. Mbye is the same size as Murray and only a couple of kilos lighter than B Smith. He has played in the middle and the last time he played hooker he made 59 tackles and only missed 1. He has ball playing ability and would be quick for a lock.

It’s a reasonable idea but I don’t think Mbye’s heart would be in it. He’s really not that professional when it’s not what he wants (my opinion).

Mybe we signed him on big $ to play fullback and all he has done of late is played fillback.
Will give a tick for versatility but play him fullback or bench player (Utility) in 2021, if can't measure up move him on like Reynolds, certainly not captain material.

Never was Captain material. Talks the talk but can’t walk the walk. One of the weakest captains we have had.

He does talk the talk at a corporate level and has some smarts but i don't agree having dual captains like we had last year with Marshall/Mybe.

**To be captain you need to inspire players both on and off the field and also back the coach and club**

Agree and Mbye just doesn’t cut it.

Tamou for me, by a long margin.

I agree that MBye isn't captain material, but he was the closest we had at the time.
The other contenders were Benji and Robbie (who were not expected to be regulars, and really with them it was a case of we'd been there and done that, we needed something new).
Aloiai was a contender, glad we didn't go down that path, as he sold us up the river Woods style.
And there was no-one else. Brooks? Definitely not, he seems to have enough on his plate managing himself. Reynolds? Maybe, but his form and ability meant he wasn't a certain starter either.

Tamou for me as our captain moving forward, with an eye on Doueihi perhaps in a few years.

Interesting. They need Mansour gone to make a competitive offer to re-sign Crichton?

No way - should show Ivan our intentions and go hard for Crichton.

Don't need to bring Crichton into the picture for mine, as I just want to see the traitor suffer a little from his cap decisions for a couple of years, even if it pales in significance to what he left us at WT to deal, with it continuing into a third year to come.

I'd love to get Crichton but i dont think that will realistically happen.I would hope that we or others come in with some fairly big offers to force Penrith to pay a lot more than what they would have wanted to. Ivan is going to have to pay big money to keep Crichton, Luai and Yeo and i would imagine they would have paid more than they wanted for Lenui. Ivan walked away from the cap mess here but i hope he is going to end up in a bigger hole at Penrith.

Think we need the Crichton at the Rorters more than we need the one at the Pamfers myself.

Not forgetting we still have 3 spots to fill, who knows who they will be?

Ivan may end up in a cap mess at Penrith, but at least the players that are chewing up the cap are quality. Its possible that they have to pay top dollar for the likes of Cleary, Crichton. Luiai, Kikau, but if you are going to screw your cap, Id rather screw it up on those names than Reynolds, Packer, Mbye

Yeah I think even with quality players they will need to adhere to the Storm system of having quality juniors coming through to supplement them. They have a couple of lean years bringing kids through and they will struggle.

Lot's of "fingers crossed I hope" going on next season it seems.

6 Hope Do E is the correct fit
3 Hope he gets back to his best
4 Ditto
7 Hope he can guide this team around and gel with his spine
9 Hope he can firstly stay on the field, secondly be what we need at 9 (I have serious doubts)
And his understudy, we hope he's all he's cracked up to be and could handle stepping up.

All of these ??
Along with the hope that Blore and Stefano live up to their potential are the reasons why I see another disappointing season ahead.

Conversely, whilst I am unsure on the number one filling our requirements and second rowers a bit thin on the ground, so agree on Blore needing to step up in the absence of a significant signing there, I am reasonably happy with the cattle elsewhere and looking forward to the season.

Unlike many, I doubt that WT will miss Harry much, if at all actually.
Even disregarding the supposedly red hot prospect in Simpkins, I love the quick and accurate out in front pass that Liddle consistently provides, expecting Brooks and Douehi to shine with the time and space that service gives, with those wider also prospering on the back of it and not being run out of space on the right.

A much lighter and fit Leilua plus the speed of Roberts firing for WT in the centres is a real possibility and if not there are plenty of reasonable options to otherwise fulfil the role for mine, with a post remedial eye surgery Kepaoa set to shine and Talau as well.

Your first sentence says it all, if you don't have a gun no1 you can forget about it.
The rest as I said are big "ifs".

I don't think the top teams need a gun no 1. You need a fair few gun players though. We don't have a team of stars. Fullback and one edge backrow spot to me should be our priority signings so in our case I think we do need a gun fullback or edge backrower. You'd think we'd make the 8 with Tedesco and Angus Crichton in our team. Knowing our luck they'd both do their ACL's in the first game.

The thing is we need real high quality players now and maybe you just get them via developing juniors.

Yeah, a top fullback is probably needed to take out the premiership, but a reasonable one should be able to get WT into the finals and a little further. We cannot expect more in the short term.
