Funny thing about broncos losing Walsh.... us wanting him for Walters would've been a bad deal for them but now they've got an even worse deal losing him and getting no one 😂 should've brought your son back Kevvy!

Kevie would have got eaten alive by the Brisbane press if he had swapped Walsh for Billy ...especially as he isn't available for another 10-12 weeks

Maybe they are lining a mid season switch for another player .......

Now they're losing him without a replacement when he leaves next year. Billy would've been better than nothing ?

matterson was excelling when at the tigers and if i recall he was in the state of origin squad for 2019.He and his manager portrayed the tigers as being at fault and sought a release.
A less than spectacular 2020 for the fellow and now parra want to flick him.
don't think there will be many wests tigers supporters feeling empathy for him.

You watch .. he'll end up back at the Rorters to replace Boyd Cordner once the doctors wont let him play footy anymore and make him retire.

I get people dont like the Roosters but you should be more aware of who they are and how they operate.

Not a chance in hell theyll take him back.

They identified him as soft and a player not worth the risk.

Best recruitment and retention in the league.

But it won't be a swap deal most likely so end of the day it's not as good for them.

Did Angus Chrighton resign with roosters yet? Would love to sign him

Not yet. His childhood club is the Roosters so it would take an incredible offer to lure him away from them.

Nathan brown off contract this year..... option?

Blore showed him up last year big time. PASS

I hate Brown but he's an origin player whereas Blore has played 5 games in first grade off the bench. There is no comparison.

Brown has played 2 Origins total after approx 100 first grade matches. It took him 7 seasons of FG to rack up those 100 matches. Blore barely played a fraction of a season.

However this thread isn't about Brown or Blore in 2020, it's about Brown in 2022. In that case there totally is a comparison, because you have to predict their output in more than a season from now. Blore is 20, Brown is 28. Brown might not play Origin again. Blore's career is mostly in front of him.

Also nothing to say you can't have both Brown and Blore.

Personally I think Brown is on the wane and I think Tigers have already invested pretty heavily in youth in Brown's preferred positions. I'd rather be purchasing a 60-minute prop or a hole-running backrower, if we were going after experienced forwards.

Nathan Brown’s only 28, if anything for a forward he’s just hitting his prime and would be an asset wherever he goes

As much as I love Blore, would be silly to compare the two as Brown is a rep player who bends the line and gives his team some much needed grunt and aggression while also showing he can be consistent over the period of several seasons while Blore has played only a handful of games and hasn’t had that ability to fully showcase his capabilities and that’s not a knock on him or anything

Brown is basically what Packer should’ve been for us and we were willing to fork out like 600-700k for him....

When Packers contract runs out at the end of the season I wouldn’t mind offering a slightly less deal to Brown to give us that platform and start our sets with a bang bending the line with a fast play the ball to allow players like Stefano, Twal, Blore, Joffa, Luciano and all the rest of the young lads to excel even further using that momentum and make us a more intimidating and aggressive squad

You watch tonight the energy he brings when he takes a hit up and I’m sure you’ll agree

Russell Packer was 28 when we signed him from St George. He was killing it at the time. Then the injuries kicked in. You always have to be wary of forwards at that age or older. Especially guys with Brown's playing style. They usually have shorter careers for a reason - their bodies are busted. There is yet to be a forward to play 300 games with the kamikaze style of play. Even Jason Taumalolo, arguably the greatest forward we've seen play rugby league, is starting to show signs of wear and tear at 27. There are rumours that he is busted and that's why Payten has opted to reduce his minutes so heavily.

Taumalolo's back is stuffed

He been carrying the Cowboys since 2019

I think it's his hand actually

I dont think the report is suggesting Parra want to flick him, I think they want him to stay. The report is suggesting Mattersons agent is shopping him around.

Same tune, different club. The Roosters were right in moving him on.

Mate the guy is never happy! He wanted to play finals football so he joins a club who made top 4 last year and they have another good shot a the premiership this season and still he wants to leave! Perhaps he better go and find another career because committing to a club and playing footy clearly isn’t his thing.

Not yet. His childhood club is the Roosters so it would take an incredible offer to lure him away from them.

Growing up, wasn't he more interested in union? JAC was also a Tigers fan growing up and look at how that ended up. Players don't seem to be as sentimental as they once were.

At this stage, do we need forwards or backs (including halves)? We have 2 spots to fill and good coin to fill them.

Money talks.

I got a feeling tom amone may work his way onto bench this season along with tuki

So possible bench of either mikaele, Musgrove, amone , mbye, tuki, simpkin, stef, packer.... last resort

Exciting stuff

Could u imagine if we did get that young fella from roosters, we could possibly have the best spine in future years if we hang on to player. A spine of j.simpkin that tannins fella volkman and laurie!! If they all stayed fit and continued to get better we would have a Melbourne storm like big 4 imo!! I know the odds of getting volkman or even hanging on to our young blokes is a dream in itself but just imagine how good that would be!!
