So if we had Tallis we would be successful. For a guy who has an ability to look on the negative side of things I wonder why you consider this more of an important factor compared to the truckloads of money they were being offered.

I think we need this. Pressure on the halves. Its never a bad thing.

In saying this, I do believe the first two rounds show us up to be a worse team than what we actually are. Tough competition. We just don't match it with the Raiders and the Roosters at the moment. Same with the Storm and Rabbitohs yada yada.

We have a very new side. The last two we faced are stable, having played for years together.

We will improve. BJ is a outlier to this statement - he is just plain unfit and uninterested. The rest will put in. I think they are invested and I expect improved performances over the next few rounds.

I heard after the fact that Benji had a crack as well, saying that Brooks was a six and not a halfback.

He’s correct, Brooks is a 6 or a 9 at best, not a halfback’s bootlace. I honestly don’t know why we’ve persisted with him in that position for so long. Ash Taylor was the same, now he’s playing at 6 he’s so much better and he was playing better there towards the end of last year even before big boppers Fifita and Tino turned up.

Funny how he wasn't a six when Benji was there.

Well we threw some almighty dollars at a couple of well known players, but they chose elsewhere on a either a lesser or comparative offer, so it’s not always about the biggest offer - no need to be a smartarse.

The Titans sign some big names because of their location, no other reason. The Dogs don’t have the lure of an attractive location that’s for sure.

Yeah forget about the line breaks, the defence his shocking, but his kicking looks decent. More to the point he seems to be able to adjust his kick based on the defence which our current half can't seem to do.
