Thoughts on giving him a coaching director gig for next year? Obviously make him sign a contract that states he can’t steal any players from us. Or even Bellamy, sharks are tying to get him for the same gig. I think 1yr is stupid & just won’t change anything.
We have major systemic issues that need years to resolve. As a coaching director he won’t attract big players especially if he has a gig the next year.

We need better, proven, consistent players. Gambles like BJ and JTJ just aren't paying off. In hindsight, letting Momo go was diabolical but if we didn't, Laurie wouldn't be at the back right now.

It will be another cleanout this year but WT (with a fistful of money) needs to continue upgrading playing stocks and bringing through youngsters with upside ie. Simpkin.

I tend to agree. Our roster this year is better than last years, and last years was better than the one before that. Yet our performances have declined. Our roster isn't anywhere near top 4 obviously, but it shouldn't be playing like it is. As I and so many others have said, something is very very wrong and changing the cattle won't work. It hasn't this year.

I feel confident about recruitment. It is the one area we have a clear direction: buy quality at value. I'd be surprised if it fell in a heap after one good off-season.

Someone mentioned Momorovski. I'd love to know why he wasn't in our long term plans or we weren't in his. That's the only reason I can think that we traded him early for Laurie. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

I reckon players will be off the sharks after the debacle that’s happened with Morris. Just my opinion

Do we have issues with Madge? I said earlier, when do we look at the players efforts?

It was looked at in the off-season with recruitment. The stats and performances don't lie. Historically bad defensively. Part of it is effort, part of it is structure, which is taught by the coach. Look at Griffin and what he's getting out of his team. Look at Cleary and what he got out of us. There was grit to those teams. Maguire hasn't pulled it out of us. Not saying he should be sacked but the team hasn't responded to it and that is on him to fix.

Be wary of outside backs in the ESL, so many have failed here. It seems the forwards generally match up well here, but players like Tomkins, Hardaker, Ryan Hall have failed in the NRL.

You're right - they aren't working but what else was available that was realistically getteable. We'd all like Sorbent but sometimes there's only Black n Gold on the shelf (Dad joke intended - old crusty wests fans don't be offended I couldn't think of a brand with white).

You're right - they aren't working but what else was available that was realistically getteable. We'd all like Sorbent but sometimes there's only Black n Gold on the shelf (Dad joke intended - old crusty wests fans don't be offended I couldn't think of a brand with white).

Problem is until we consistently attract the Sorbent, we are stuck with Black & Gold at the wrong end of the ladder.

The older players, and not so much older, from other clubs seem to reinforce the mediocrity in pretty quick time too if you ask me. Seems we desperately need an image makeover.
I would rather the club sack some board members than sacking the next player who drops a ball.

I can’t see what they’ve done either? Don’t you think they should be accountable for the performance of the entire organisation? They are the ultimate decision makers? They hold the club’s destiny in their hands.

I just found the ref's audio of the first scrum from the game. You can clearly hear Tamou saying to Liddle that "The Tigers Board have banned party pies for the post-game Tommy R nibblies!" It's a wonder we scored any points at all!
