Danny Weidler reporting Hastings returning to the NRL next year with Tigers front runners to sign him.

We'd be the only runners. Seriously if this true, our recruitment has reached a new low. I believed Joey Leilua to be right down there.

Why would Hastings be a new low?

I informed a friend of mine. He and his family have links to Illawarra footy. His first comment is why do some coaches believe they are the exception when others have failed (in relation to recruiting players who have a history)? This is the same gentleman who pointed out a young 16 year old Ryan Girdler as a future star. I listen when someone of that background makes comment.

No offence intended mate but I dont think we should entirely write off this potential signing based on your mate who has connections to Illawarra footy.

No offence taken. But if we are considering or have signed Hastings, I despair for our club and its future.

What did Hastings actually do? No one has ever said. He also seems to have matured a lot after being exiled.

Blow up witb DCE and most of the other players in the team was the last thing I remember. He didn't seem to get along with many people wherever he went.

And this is what I mean. He's essentially been run out of the country based on a bad attitude at this point. I assume he did something really nasty off field that has been ignored or covered up because he's a nobody

He was only 22 at the time and some young men do not mature as quickly as others. If ruffling the feathers of a few ego's is the worst he has done I think he is probably entitled some leeway. His price tag would be thing I am most concerned about. He is still relatively in proven here.

The blokes who don’t want him are scared he’ll show Brooks up.

The Brooks fan club are so worried we will have a number 7 that madge can use if Brooks don’t deliver that they are using any reason to talk down this signing.

I am Brooks' supporter but I see the bigger picture. Just what path is WTs being lead down? We keep on signing problematic players and are second last on the table. Despite all the feel good stories, we lost to Souths when we should have won. There must be a point in the very near future when WTs' Board say enough., we need a change in direction with our coach. A new coach will have to work within the existing football dept framework and appointments.

Whats the point of a new coach? You are then starting again - new philosophies, styles etc. WT need stability and it is going to take time. This is the first year you could say Maguire has his own roster (barring Mbye and Packer). Every one of us tigers fans wants to win.....its been a tough 10 years.....but it is moving in the right direction.

Whats the point of a new coach? You are then starting again - new philosophies, styles etc. WT need stability and it is going to take time. This is the first year you could say Maguire has his own roster (barring Mbye and Packer). Every one of us tigers fans wants to win.....its been a tough 10 years.....but it is moving in the right direction.

Because we're afraid of change? If it is not working we need to confront the problem. Changing the coach while keeping in place all our Football Dept and coaching/support staff results in one appointment change.

Love the Jackson Hastings signing the club has tried several times to buy top level players and has failed because they don’t want to come here it would be great if we could sign Cameron Munster but in reality it’s never going to happen we have to keep trying to find value in players like Hastings until all our young gun rookies come through and hopefully develop into solid first graders

Brooks fans rattled, those over Brooks hoping it's a signal for change. I just hope he proves value for money and then the team will benefit and let form sort out the rest.

What ? You’ve lost the plot ! Why are you death riding our halfback ? I don’t see anyone denigrating Hastings . If you think Hastings is the saviour , then I’ve got bad news for you . The team needs to lift around the spine collectively , which will happen as the game time they play together increases . And that includes Brooks. . If the club decides to move him on , then Madden not Hastings should be the one to get the nod . Hastings is NOT a halfback . You’re so Enamaouted with dumping our halfback , that you somehow have twisted it in your head that your being victimised . It’s actually impressive how you’ve done that . A little scary , with the lack of reasonable thought , but impressive none the less .

The Chad, although his dipped a bit in the recent year is still a pretty shrud acquisition IMO. His a premiership winner but despite that is probably on the lowest salary of all starting halves. He has more longevity than Adam Reynolds and is an outstanding character plus his already got a former combo with Holmes.

Moylan not sure but them losing Johnson and Townsend they can get Reynolds without losing Moylan

Gee relax buddy. first it’s a fact that Reynolds is going to the Sharks and Johnson to the Broncos, and now your saying the only fact is that Johnson is off contract and the sharks will sign Reynolds out of circumstance. There are plenty of moves to play out yet. I mean Townsend isn’t even confirmed yet.

If the club is signing Naden I suggest they do it quickly before he plays first grade and Penrith remember how good he is. Wests desperately need him now.

Penrith aren't stupid, despite us supposedly agreeing to terms with naden Panthers still hold all the leverage. It'd cost a lot to get him here early.

Probably doesn't help that we publicly dobbed them in for their crowd number indiscretion.

Yep - we stuck to the rules at Leichhardt, whereas they packed out their stadium with a full crowd the same weekend.

Wow.......this is EXACTLY where Tigers fans are now. We dont deserve good players thank God Jackson Hastings accepted us.

I've been saying it for a few years now, this is the mindset of the club and fans. No ambition, just making up the numbers. And happy with it.
