Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Plenty of good young centres off contract. Harley Smith Shileds,Sebastian Kris, Murray Tualagi, Tevita Funa, Jayden Okunbur.

No world beaters but many better options out there to cover. Our best option is a player swap. Let the dogs have Naden and release BJ and Jet.

We definately are a weird bunch when it comes to recruitment. Players only have a few reason to leave a club imo.
Club stability
Issues at the club
Pathway blocked
Big money
Emotional link ie family, coach etc
Title

This literally means that it's damn near impossible to drag a player out of a good environment with out some super incentives.

Where does that leave us, we have been a basket case but that is settling, we aren't over spending, we lack emotional links and we aren't pushing for a title.

Pretty much means we need to roll the dice a little. We have done that poorly in the past and are doing it better now I relation to contracts in our favour.

Guys like bj, jtj, joffa, douhei, Laurie and now Hastings are worth the roll. Hasting has been vetoed at other clubs which gives us a better in. He has performed well above expectations overseas. None of us know his current character. But performance on the field has been excellent in a scarce position.

A friend in a very high nrl position explained why Townsend was a huge get for the cows. Basically there are in his eyes a handful of solid consistent halves in the comp and EVERYONE is watching them. When they hit the market they get overs but are actually worth every penny. He expects reynolds to get crazy money considerably higher then the Chad.

The game plan is to pair seasoned with potential and model. The good clubs do this. Think souths, Melbourne, Brisbane until recently even nq.

No matter what people believe the halves have been our biggest issue since Scott Prince and remain to be so. So we gamble we take risks lets hope one comes off.

Develop a winning culture and win more games than you lose will fix that.

It actually is. Also I believe with Maguire as coach we are well on the way. Losing is just not acceptable. That hasn't been the case for a long time.

I really really want Sebastian Kris, but Ricky might hold onto him he's been used a decent amount this season

Toby Rudolf is off contract? Tigers should be all over that. He's a great lock in the Nathan Brown mould.

Staying with Sharks I hear. Strong player.

Solid player. Smith Shields from the Raiders is a much better prospect. Kid is electric and a real footy player.

Yeah I would be surprised if he left. We've got the coin to make him a decent offer though. Love how he plays!

I have heard raiders fans really like him. We should have a look at some of those guys

Oh yeah lets sign TPJ! Another guy from a terrible club who is notoriously inconsistent and has a bad attitude.

Hello Tigers fans, we aren't coached by Craig Bellamy

Watched a game couple weeks ago TPJ did one hitup in 5 sets, we can do better than him

We just bought a lock in Jackson Hastings

Responding to earlier mocking of Cowboys signing Townsend: Why are people critical of Townsend? I think he's better than Brooks, surprised people think differently. He has a consistent kicking game, is an organising half and is a good goal kicker. You can absolutely rely on his play. I think he's not a great runner, but he is a proper halfback and I'd pick him before a player like Mitchell Moses (despite Moses having a lot more flair). What weakness am I not seeing?
