I know some won't like the idea but Nathan Brown is off contract and a few clubs have pulled out. Would not mind him in the team to add some aggression with Blore for the right price.

I think he’s what we need to be honest

I'd take him at $600k no problem.

He is a current SOO player and a area we need massive help in.. 600k would be a good deal and if we leave it too long others will pounce

Runs it from the back fence and would challenge others to play with his passion. Either that or he’d catch the mediocrity virus.

Na Dale Finuchine for me. Attack and defence. Never stops.

All out for him if he'd off contract.

He is off contract.

For one year with a club option. Nathan Brown is the type of player who is one bad injury away from becoming a plodder.

18 last year, 6 this year. At 28 has he got a chronic injury?

He's at the age where forwards generally start to decline. Also in order for him to be good he needs to keep the same playing style, which is terrible for his body. He could quite easily get here and just try to get through his contract in order to earn his $. Seen it plenty of times from many players of his stature.

He'd be great. Pobably out of our league

Yeah, he plays a very physical game but a few years left in him I reckon.

I'm not sure our signings are going so well that we can laugh at other teams.

I would disagree. Laurie has been a gun and will only get better. Stefano has been amazing. These guys are pretty much rookies and will only get better. Joe O is starting to find his feet. James tamou and roberts have been disappointing but they aren’t on big coin. I still think roberts will be a very good player for us.

Roberts definitely earning his money as he's not being paid much. Wish they just gave him more ball! He's looked mighty dangerous a few times

Why we bought speed and then never pass to him. It's pathetic. BJ suffered the same fate.

Agree. Early ball to the backs should be the game plan.

Yeah round 8 no try

Surely we would look at nathan brown, maybe not a 4 year deal but 2 + c/o.

Gotta say for a team running 15th almost every name gets poopoo'd on here.

He’s after 4 years at $650k a year apparently. Big no from me

No, that's apparently what he turned down at Manly. 1.2mil for 2 years at Parra.

Nathan Brown. Sure he has something most of our forwards lack but his playing style won’t last much longer nor will his pace. He is a very good player but only way he comes here is on a 3-4yr deal and if he wants 600k thats too much per season. Maybe 450k per season for 3yrs but can’t agree to entertaining a 600k per season offer.

manly said no to his 4 year 2.6M demand - he's not worth that. surely he is an injury waiting to happen the way he runs

I want blokes who run like it will injure them.

Keep raiding the best juniors.

This isn’t the Premier League...you can’t come 18th this year and buy a new team of stars and come 4th the year after.

Look at the Dogs...big splurge for no return. Barrett is doing a Cleary at Bankstown.

The guys we’ve bought still haven’t gelled, but there’s talent there. They need time.

There’s no one great available on the market now, so let’s buy 2 or 3 Daine Laurie 2.0’s next year until someone decent comes along at a reasonable price.

The young talent identified by Hartigan is second to none. They’ve been some of our best players. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

People are kidding themselves if they think Hastings will play halfback over brooks. The bloke played a about 15 games for the roosters in the halves and **guess what they came 14th that year.**

He’s a depth signing that will play Lock of the bench. I see him being more effective at lock than halfback anyways. Just like what mybe has done in a few games but much cheaper.

Aren't we coming 15th this year after 8 years with the same half
And you want to judge Hastings on 1 year

Not sure how many times people have to say this, but brooks isn’t the reason we are coming 14th. It’s honestly gone past amusing how stupid some of our fans are for blaming it on brooks. Defence has been our let down. (If it wasn’t already obvious for the nufties)

Hastings will be a better option at lock. Brooks is no 14 especially at the price we are paying.
There’s a reason Hastings has been playing super league for a few years without any nrl interest. I think the Madge is genius for the Lock idea. Hopefully he can be a Munster for us.

Hastings took a roosters Side to 15th.. I don’t remember roosters being that bad in the last decade... mind you hastings had absolute weapons in that team. Yes he was young but he had a better squad than brooks has ever had. I garuntee you brooks players for the roosters that year at 21-21 the roosters would be higher.

I’m happy with the Hastings signing if it means more depth in the halves and hooker. But lock is the position he would be really good for us if he comes off.

So it's Hastings fault that Roosters came 15th when he was a half but it is not Brooks fault that we don't make finals
Is that what you saying
Don't forget we had Tedesco Moses Woods in our team along with a few others

I'm not blaming Brooks for all of our woes but he has been part of it
His kicking has let us down on many occasions
Nofoalumas hands and defence have let us down on many occasions
Our forwards have let us down on many occasions
Our centres have let us down
It's not one players fault but it's a team sport and they all contribute to our failures and success
Now I am not saying to replace Brooks with Hastings and I agree that Hastings will probably serve better as a lock
But who knows what Madge has in store
For all our sakes let's hope Hastings plays better then expected

I was using the point that all the brooks haters have been using “he’s halfback he should have gotten us into the finals blah blah” I merely used the same reasoning except Hastings had a much better squad 1-17 was top notch. Brooks at the same age did a better job with our roster. He’s definitely not be perfect but I think he’s always been one of more consistent players, he looks good in a weak roster. He plays for a top 6 team and he makes them better.

on NRL 360 They reported that Naden had dinner with Barrett last night, apparantly the Bulldogs are keen, must have an endless money pitt of money

According to Pom post we have an agreement but if nothing is signed and Naden’s management are still playing games like Mitchell and JAC did .... then see ya later.
The guy is just an average player anyway.
Let’s just not waste oxygen on crap some of these managers go on with.

It's not that he is an average player. IMHO he is above average and probably would add a little in our team.

It's that Naden seems to be coming with a lot of baggage. Do we need that?

Maybe it is worth taking in Naden so that we get a flow from Penrith. I noticed at the moment we got Brisbane, Penrith and Souths players coming into our team. All these teams seem to have cap problems and good players. Otherwise I wouldn't be taken Naden at market rate.

Cant see us even entertaining the idea of Nathan Brown. Goes against our recruitment model.

I agree with others, too big a risk of decline to offer top money.
