Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

plenty of money to spend next year. Hartigan has plenty of say on the recruitment front but we're going to have to make a call on the coach fairly soon otherwise we're going to be in the state of flux for another 3 years.

As if it's not hard enough already ? no decent player will join us until we can prove we don't suck and that might be never lol

We have a fair bit of money to spend next year. **It’s pretty clear Maguire won’t be here** so cut him now and try and salvage what we can. It’s become evident that representative players don’t want to play for him.

It's not clear yet but a few more losses like that and I can see a change happening

He's a million to one chance of being here next year.

We need leaders in this team. No one chats and encourages during adversity. Bring back Woods, Siro, Nathan Brown. I cant believe I am admitting this but I would think about bringing back Mitch Moses too

Wash your mouth out.

I don’t think any of those players would come back to us even if we had the roosters salary sombrero

Why didn't we pursue Reece Walsh harder? We should have thrown everything at him.

1. Walsh
6. Laurie
9. Simpkin

Would have been something to get excited about. Ah well..

He's a KIWI was always going home

He’s only half a kiwi and was born in Sydney. Not to mention he’s closer to his indigenous side as well.

And has a 4 month old as well he has achieved a lot for an 18 year old

IT actually blows my mind that our most consistent and best player in Laurie keeps being moved out of the position he is killing. Surely we lock that down as one of the few positions we have a solid player and be working on the ones we don't.

He's young and a talent, could become a very good fullback but reality is he is far from killing it at the moment.

While he has many friends among these his line defense is atrocious, urgency in getting across on the goal line poor, stifling backline plays by running sideway, positioning at the back for kicks is iffy.
Taking the rose coloured glasses off the only things he is offering is being a bit elusive and solid under the highball.

All that been said i would persist with him at fullback we have enough "5/8's"

Agree he isnt fantastic defensively but disagree with backline plays call and positioning in general.
He has been an awesome ball runner and often receives the ball in a pretty ordinary position due to our halves when chiming in the backline.
He also very rarely doesnt catch the ball on the full at the back for long kicks and has defuse plenty of short.

It's almost as if he missed pre-season and isn't on the same wave length as many of his teammates

Moses wants to play in a team that has a realistic chance of playing in the GF .. plus I read that Moses who is on around $800K per season saw that Townsend is reportedly going to get close to $1M per season with the Cows .. so Moses next stop he wants $1M+ per season .. !!

Moses is one player I would pay to play somewhere else, Dylan Brown carries him, he’s overrated, disloyal and very average... perhaps the smartest move we ever made was getting rid of his selfish egocentric personality from the club

A team that has a realistic chance of playing in a grand final would not have Moses playin in it! ??

We've got money but players still won't come here, been that way before Madge was here. We never sign genuine stars unfortunately

That's partly down to who we are as a club and also the coaches we've brought on board. Potter and Taylor had limited appeal to players and Ivan panic bought. Deserved or not evidence suggests established players with multiple options don't want to play for Madge. We need to move on to someone else.

I don't think it'll make a difference unless we get one of the super coaches. It's career suicide coming to play for us unless you're a rookie trying to get some first grade so you can get signed elsewhere

Players want to earn good money and win. They don't want to go to a club with an old fashioned disciplinarian that loses all the time. If we can get someone in that has good man management skills and is decent tactically, we might start winning some games. I think we have the squad to upset a few teams. Once that happens we might start getting some players through the door.

Before we start getting tactical the players actually have to start wanting to win, and that's on the culture from top to bottom. Whole join needs a clean out.

If they got rid of Madge today I guarantee you we'd see a different attitude this week.

I would almost guarantee it, needs to happen this week

Wishful thinking on my part, I am just over this bad team selections, no game plan and no commitment every week.

Which player would be stupid to sign up to play for this basket case team?

Ones who want the money, there will be some, we just have to find them.

We have to sign three or four really big players who all want to play with each other and want to be part of something incredible. We have to sell the story.

The chance to be part of the reinvention of this club. You will be lauded forever by the most passionate of all fans.
Is your legacy as a player going to be that you became a star and then went to an already amazing team?
No premiership you will ever win will ever be as sweet as the one here.
To take a team like ours and turn us into champions will be stuff of legends.

Make it happen.
