The Cowboys have secured Scott Drinkwater on a two-year contract extension, per News Corporation. The cows now have Chad Townsend, Tom Dearden & Scott Drinkwater signed as halves options in 2022.

Payten is bringing together a good Nth Qld side. I always enjoy league more when the Cowboys are going well. It is a rugby league stronghold deserving of a strong team.

I didn't want Tedesco back, but I did want Papenhuyzen to return. I agree with your analogy about not going back to an old girlfriend. For Papenhuyzen I'm prepared to make an exception.?

I think we will be hard pushed to keep Liddle but if we do keep him as a bench player then that will help our depth, Liddle would walk in to any of those sides

Esan played quite well at WTs especially under Cleary.

This is the funniest post I have read this year. Esan makes James Roberts 2021 look like a gun. You really got a thing for Ivan don’t you.

If he is what he claims, he’s not going to show us.
Time for Madge to cut him loose. He’s just not going to return the loyalty or opportunity Madge has given him.

I doubt he will be here next year.

Even if he has been told, you’d expect better. We would have lost that Dragons game if it wasn’t for Brooks cleaning up after him.

Or Leilua scoring a try and running a great line for the other.

We really have to move on from him. He may be on a lesser contract but would still use money and a position better utilised on a player like Ogden. It is just my view.

As bad as BJ is (although he was great on the weekend) he’d run circles around Marsters. I pray that marsters is selected this week.

We played really well that second half . The dragons need a lot of pats on the back for Thier defence . We threw a lot at them . If we can play like that , and that’s a big if , the Titans won’t offer the same quality defence that the dragons did .

Ivan's never been my girlfriend but if he is prepared to come back some of the pitchforks would need to be put away. Effigies stored with the Brooks ones.

Brooks is a loyal fellow and one of our best and is also under contract. Contracts appear to mean something to Brooks.

Don't know why you'd think that. He doesn't suit us, he's played poorly and has a highly questionable attitude. I reckon he's got a month before he spends the rest of his career in NSW Cup before heading to england.

I can see why they turned Johnson down as Warriors have CHT, Nikorima, Perham, Turner, O'Sullivan and Walsh all on their books.

So Storm have offered Coates 850k for 2 years and he is mulling it over.. We need to have a serious chat to his management and at least put an offer in as he is worth way more than that.. I would offer 600k without hesitation for 3 years. Compare him to Nofo, Cotric and he is bigger, quicker and current SOO player that is only going to get better.. Madge / Hartigan get on the phone

Absolutely. I'd go so far as offering 1.9-2 million over 3 years. We've got to pay overs to get the first star or two. Sure, he's currently only worth about 450-500k. 600-650k is our ballpark to have any chance.

I think we need to think better then this.
First, Melbourne offer 850k for 2 years... what makes anyone think we have a chance offering 650k over 3?

Does Coates fit our team?
I would not have thought "winger" is what we need. Yes we need to score, but I think what Madge was doing in hiring BJ Leulia and James Roberts is get an experienced back pairing, we have spent the money there and it hasn't worked out, but I get the logic. Now what add Coates and Nofo... Where is Cini going to go? Talou? I don't want to loose Cini to Parra/dogs/easts/whoever because we did not leave room for him to develop.



Honestly, my view is we need to get our forward pack right and our big D right. Defense is key, we haven't got this right and I think we need more then Tamou and Joe O . A winger will not help that at all.

We need x factor. Often the game is in the balance and we can't score because everyone in our lineup are workers and no one can beat their man, create something out of nothing. A tall fast winger who'll be playing Origin for the next decade would be handy. Coates on 650 or Nof on 450, i sure know what i'd prefer.

We'll see, but i reckon Cini is a stop gap solution for us. Will play first grade this year and some of the next but isn't a strike player. Some of the juniors we have might be ready towards the end of next season and will overtake him as a starting player.

We've got plenty of props, and some excellent ones coming through the grades. No need for more. Second rowers is the issue, and finding the right lock. Tuki seems a great lock option if we go for a bigger body, otherwise Lidz may be a goer

Coates is a centre who happens to have pace to play wing. You pay him big $ as a centre knowing he will be a star running off opps created by the Storm halves.
