Take a good look at Brad Arthur's son this weekend.
This kid can play.
I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to entice him away from Parra would it?

Another bloke with the skills , but lacks that extra yard of pace to be a top quality half

To be fair he's a kid fresh out of high school. He's got a lot of training and development to do.

Actually BB I'll go the extra step ...in this modern game , if you don't have an above adequate running game you won't succeed

And to take it to the next step ..if Sterling or Langer were trying to crack the modern game ...ignoring the size issues ...they wouldn't make it

So true. All of the top sides halves have speed, it's a must'.
The same as the forwards, leg speed and the ability to pass the ball is paramount.

You can't train speed ...kid has the goods skill wise

He's got a very athletic build, only seen him play once though but definitely didn't seem slow. With extra strength and conditioning coaching he can get a yard or two quicker. Pace is definitely not a requirement of a halfback.

Which halfbacks in the current game are fast?

Over the 1st 5 metres ......most even Reynolds and Cleary are quick enough to split a defence and get on the outside of an opposite defender

There is a hazy rumour floating around that Ricky Stuart has inquired about Luke Brooks availability to replace George Williams in Canberra.

Not sure on reliability, source has 50% hit rate. But one worth watching if it develops. By that I mean, watching Brooks out the door.

There was an enquiry by Wigan to see if they could get George Williams immediately and suggested a three way swap with Hastings moving to the Tigers, Brooks to Canberra and Williams to Wigan. I believe it was nothing more than an enquiry/suggestion which was shot down.

I wonder how much freight we'd expect to carry for Brooks still has a few years and on big $ which i cant see the raiders taking on. I think Brooks does need to go for his sake and our sake but to carry the can for this to happen would be silly especially when we've a;ready signed Hastings for next year.

Hastings is a downgrade from Brooks

Hastings is a downgrade from Brooks

No one really knows, one thing we do know is Brooks has had his career stifled he will never be the half we need him to be he wont own a team. Hastings may be a downgrade but could he be the guy we need, he only really needs to run a team around the park. If we could cut and run from Brooks i would, there's always the danger of everyone saying look another one they let go but he isnt going to do it here. Most people can see that for whatever reason it is we will never really know.

The only people who even think brooks is crap , is the fans on social media , and Mick Ennis ( who has a bee in his bonnet because his close mate in Reynolds was wearing the magpies jersey last year ) There’s been no mention out of the club that they’re even remotely unhappy with him. I’m curious if he does play second receiver , how many try assists he will get . Or if he will prove everyone right on here .

I think Brooks has been bitterly disappointing since the start of last season, and is very lucky to not be playing reserve grade (I thought he was good in '18 and '19).

Could we see a three way player swap on our hands?
Not sure if everyone agrees, however...

Jackson Hastings Wests Tigers
George Williams Wigan Warriors
Luke Brooks Canberra Raiders

if possible go for it makes sense if Williams wants to go home asap

Sorry, was not alluding to Bellamy coming here, more so if Brooks hypothetically went to Melbourne. Bellamy has the ability to turn average players into good players.
