There is a hazy rumour floating around that Ricky Stuart has inquired about Luke Brooks availability to replace George Williams in Canberra.

Not sure on reliability, source has 50% hit rate. But one worth watching if it develops. By that I mean, watching Brooks out the door.

There was an enquiry by Wigan to see if they could get George Williams immediately and suggested a three way swap with Hastings moving to the Tigers, Brooks to Canberra and Williams to Wigan. I believe it was nothing more than an enquiry/suggestion which was shot down.

I wonder how much freight we'd expect to carry for Brooks still has a few years and on big $ which i cant see the raiders taking on. I think Brooks does need to go for his sake and our sake but to carry the can for this to happen would be silly especially when we've a;ready signed Hastings for next year.

The only people who even think brooks is crap , is the fans on social media , and Mick Ennis ( who has a bee in his bonnet because his close mate in Reynolds was wearing the magpies jersey last year ) There’s been no mention out of the club that they’re even remotely unhappy with him. I’m curious if he does play second receiver , how many try assists he will get . Or if he will prove everyone right on here .

Well if he kills at at 5/8. Which i think he is.
He will only prove he isn't a halfback (which he thinks he is) therefor almost everyone in the "Hook Brooks" camp will be correct.

Sign of what ? That the Aus schoolboy half , kicking but in reserves deserves a shot ? Yea I do . That our halves don’t work , and every time it gets to an edge the ball does with the fullback or 6 . Yea I do think that . That our 7 has a a hit or miss short kicking game , and a predictable running game . Yea I do . There’s not confirmation of anything , but rather our team sux donkeys , and we need to fix it tomorrow .

This kid can play.
I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to entice him away from Parra would it?

Another bloke with the skills , but lacks that extra yard of pace to be a top quality half

To be fair he's a kid fresh out of high school. He's got a lot of training and development to do.

You can't train speed ...kid has the goods skill wise

He's got a very athletic build, only seen him play once though but definitely didn't seem slow. With extra strength and conditioning coaching he can get a yard or two quicker. Pace is definitely not a requirement of a halfback.

I would say no halves are fast. Brooks possibly the fastest of them all. Maybe Hughes has some pace. The point is halfbacks aren't usually fast.

But I think in the halves we need somebody with a bit more attacking flair. Doueihi and Johnson has the potential to be a very good combination.

Whatever is happening with Brooks and Mbye needs to be sorted out asap. They can't rely on Hastings to be the answer as he has no track record of that over here. Unless they have great faith in Jock, which we'll get a chance to see in coming weeks.

From what I've seen of Madden in NSW Cup he isn't First Grade standard. Happy to be proven wrong but I don't think he's the answer.

It's a lot easier to to look good in a team with with 13 class players,5 who are exceptional like Melbourne , then in a team of nuffies with a backline with the speed of a walrus.

I’ve seen that being floated around. Idk whether to believe it considering Bennett would have been the one offering him only a year at South’s. Unless it was part of a master plan to get him to the Broncos long term knowing he’d be coaching. Which if is the case...genius.
