What’s everyone’s thoughts on brad Arthur’s son? He’s of contract end of 2022 and looks the goods in reserve grade and didn’t look out of place in FG. With parra and Moses inking a new deal will be interesting to see what he opts to do for a new contract

He will never leave. Has been training with the NRL team since he was a kid. The father son bond at the club is a massive one.

Does anyone in the know actually know if brooks is actually being shopped to the raiders?

Now please don't ask uncomfortable questions. The Brooks' posse were working themselves into a frenzy salivating over a move to Canberra, whether fact or fiction.

Hynes is not the right fit for us right now IMO. Laurie and Doueihi are our 2 best attacking players and should be in the 1 and 6 IMO.

If we want a centre, I’d rather get a specialist there.

I'd prefer a better player than we currently have. Hynes is that player. He'd make us stronger and Laurie and Douehi would still have prominent roles

I should confess I don't have a real estate mate in Belconnen and I have no idea whether Brooks is looking for an apartment in Barton although it would be a nice place to live. There was so much rubbish being touted I felt like I was missing out. So I added my unsubstantiated rumour to appease my ego. Please forgive me.

Too late, rothfield has already sent a published article through to the printers after reading your earlier post

That’s code for, “I don’t know either”.

A good mate of mine is Hynes' cousin and advised he's very unlikely to end up at Broncos despite all the media speculation about them being the front runners. Apparently after magic round he met with Kevvy and Kevvy completely dropped the ball trying to entice him to join.

Hynes asked Kevvy "If I join Broncos where do you see me in 5 years and what type of footballer can you help me become?" Kevvy apparently replied "Um ahhh I dunno tbh".

I see that question from Hynes showing a person with a level of drive, character and intelligence that I don't think we have enough of. The concern wasn't "How much cash" it seems he's more worried about being the best player he can be. Sign of a winner in my book

looks as if the merry-go-round up north is about to start

Dearden > Cowboys
Clifford > Knights
Walters > Broncos

Isaako > Wests?

I fell for it

That was really solid mate 😂😂😂

I think it was only last year people were complaining about "Us needing speed in our spine/squad"

Hynes doesn't look like a speed demon to me, i'd even put him against Talau in the speed department.

What he does have is ball skills and knows when to kick or to hold the ball.

Forget speed, shoulders will do.

Ricky is not having a good fortnight. His comment about netball was very wrong. I like George Williams as a player and this is a sad way to end his days at the Raiders.

I found his comment about netball rather amusing - the only ones offended were netball australia cronies and the constant stream of woke influencers who are offended by everything.

I think Ricky only mentioned netball in terms of non-contact, not in terms of athleticism or toughness. Netball is the most non-contact ball sport going around.

what about golf? or tennis? etc at least netball has some contest and collisions off the ball

Exactly, spot on. His next questions were about what direction Kevvy sees the club heading and why/how does Kevvy see him fitting into those plans. Kevvy offered up much of the same dribble apparently and provided very vague, clueless answers.

this!
if its true then those questions show he is thinking beyond a how big of a pocket do i have up here and more into the future, where and who will i be down the track. seems pretty rare in the modern age (even if it is just all talk)

i think madge needs to have a think about doueihi. is he our long term 6 or is he a better centre? if he is a centre then throw the cash at hynes, offer him a 6 or 1 jumper and laurie the other and mix it around until we find that sweet spot between them

we aren't exactly flushed with centres and if one spot can be secured up with AD then why not throw the book at hynes and sell the future of the club to him if it means something to his future (based on his words)

I'm sorry but almost everyone asks questions like that, he may have even been spoon-fed by his manager. It's hearsay from this thread and parctically meaningless about the real-life Nicho Hynes.

Not sure, saw Hynes interviewed regards the last Storm game and he seems articulate and intelligent.

isn't brookes under contract still?
the tigers can't just shaft him off to the clappers because it will allow the merry go round to operate
if i was brookes, unless raiders were to pay full freight and then some i would be happy to just cash my 700-900k a year cheque for the next few years

He would get his full wage regardless.
