The media are desperate for us to sign Finucane so next year they can say we have roster issues due to huge money tied up in a 30 year old player. The story writes itself.

The media certainly are all-in on Finucane. Well Fox media anyway.

Hooper the tigers fan carrying on with his opinion in his weekly column. even if we are 'all in' on Finucane, you can almost guarantee he'll stay at Melbourne.

It's a win-win for Fox because not in a million years is Finucane coming here. Hooper is looking for something to write about in his column, which has been a struggle to read since he got given it.

So did we miss out on TPJ ? Because it’s been nearly a week after that crap show ,and you guys are still going with the negativity .
How much wrist slitting are you going to do ? You guys need to step away from the forum and the footy . I love bye week , it gives me a chance to take a breath .
Some of you , really ,really need to do the same .
2 weeks ago we were singing thier praises , now we want to string them up , and burst them like a piñata.
The WHOLE NRL is , not named the storm , are dealing with this touch footy masquerading as a professional sports competition.

And unless the storm are clairvoyant, which I don’t think they are , they lucked in hugely with these rule changes . They’re whole system is built around guys who work . And it’s less around game breakers , especially in the forwards . There’s no Fifita , no TPJ ,No Kikau , No Luci leilua ,yet they bust teams open .

Thier edges are litterally quick and strong in first contact / collision . Teams , like us took a risk , and now we are going to have to chase different body types. Unless the NRL comes back down to earth and realises they’ve jumped the shark here.

My point is ... relax !!! The team is young , they do young dumb things , The guy who you all claim is the most experienced dude in the world , brooks , who should be the leader right ? He’s 26 . I was still coming back to reality at 6 in the morning after nights out at 26 . Doing all kinds of reckless man child things . He’s just not the dude you want him to be . And that’s fine .

Hastings apparently is . And AD is as well . So is Blore , if he can beat his injury curse .

The rest of the season is the real indicator . If we can get to 10 wins I would call that a successful season . 12 and we are playing semis . The season isn’t lost . And in some ways getting hammered like that , and not playing well for 65 minutes then losing 30-16 or something like , might be a good thing .

It’s not going to get worse than that . That’s it . That’s rock bottom .

Seriously , my advice is to find something else to do for 1 week till next Sunday . You’ll feel better for it . Because what I’m reading is a bunch of guys way too invested ,to a extremely toxic level .

I’m just telling you , how you appear . But it’s nice to see you doubling down . Many many , more things in my life to drop my bundle over . The tigers getting flogged by 50 is not one of them .

Glad I got my point across. I’ve been banging on on here for years, not weeks. If last week wasn’t vindication of my opinion then I’ll never get it. I just wanna see some heads roll so maybe I might have a decent footy team to support. You might get less wallowing then.

Mate we all do . That was disgusting . But after a week , it’s just not healthy to hold that much anger . And I find it’s better to search for a bit of light in the dark . As small as it might be .

Going on the Pom and co it is clear Hartigan and co **identified TPJ specifically for his offloads and second phase play.**

The Finucane stuff seems like a reaction to our huge loss, Chairman Lee even publicly commented on Finucane etc...

Finicuane would be great, but he will be 30 soon and wants 4 years on massive money. He is a warrior, but he would need a couple of hard nosed vets with him. It is not like he could suddenly help Nofa and LL tackle.

800 grand is a lot for a bloke who is not a playmaker.

In an ideal world we would sign both of them. We probably have the cap room to do it.

My concern is the delay will see TPJ go off to a team like the Dogs and then Finucane stay in Melb anyway. Thus we end up with neither of these 'elite' level talents...and the market for forwards is fairly bare once you remove them both.

I wouldn't read much into Capewell denying reports that hes signed with the Broncos. He has been named in the Qld team, he's meant to be training with them. I'm fairly certain I've read (last year, year before?) that when players are in Origin camp, they're expected to be focused on their State side and not their club.

Ben Ikin has come out and said Capewell is their number one target… expect him to be there.

He's probably signed already just waiting for cooling-off period to finish

Tbf that info has been on Fox Sports website since the news of SJ to Warriors broke earlier today so it's hardly inside or breaking knowledge.

IMO, Finucane will not attract players as much as TPJ would.

I really hope we don't pay overs if we end up getting him, the way he has played the game he won't have many games ahead.

I would be going after both.
Fin at 13 and TPJ at 12 makes our pack have a massive lift and they both compliment each other.

Not sure if tpj better in front row or edge

Play him on the edge and either get rid of Lucy or move him infield. He is a massive liability on the edges with how fast the game is moving. Lucy needs body contact to show he is effective.

Does anybody seriously believe Hartigan would be asleep at the wheel?

There are 2 being mentioned (only by us and the press, not the club) but I would be surprised, if we are not looking at a bucket load of players?

TBH, I think the backs are more the issue than the forwards, though you can always find a spot for any good player?

Who ever we sign, will hopefully be a step up for that position?
