I know the state of the club isn't the best but where are the ambitious players who back themselves enough to be the player who turns the WTs fortunes around?
Someone under the Thurston or Tommy Turbo mould. Super competitive, a winning attitude and a big set of balls who is unfazed by any of our history, challenges or limitations.
I can respect footy player's decisions to seek glory and them not seeing us as an option but I'm totally sick of being a bargaining chip for those whose intentions are not the best.
It's the last thing we need.
Five hit-ups and a bomb is not really the type of football that attracts good players.
I occasionally teach hip hop (dance) and some games when I've watched us play it's usually reminded me of the under 5's classes.
Most have two left feet and in group dance routines, they are so out of sync, it isn't funny. It's like if the NRL were the MTV VMAs we'd be winning the worst choreographed music video hands down.
Your on the coaching staff Lauren asap
Did rhythmic gymnastics until I fractured my tibia-fibula a second time, so I happen to know a thing or two about timing and the technical aspects of performing in a super competitive environment - including mental preparation or psychological training.
The team's cohesiveness and persistence haven't improved much and it's created the impression, for me, that it will always take/require an Herculean effort to be in certain games.
I'm basically saying, despite any ounce of talent in the team in the overall scheme of things we're no better (as a team) than we were at the start of the year, and in fact are probably closer to where we were in our poorest seasons. So this is a little worrying.
I just don't want this year to be like others, how in 2016 it was so glaringly obvious that we only needed Farah to make the 8 or how in recent years our goal kicking was the one let down of achieving this. That's all.
Was actually only thinking about Brett Hodgson the other day, and that if he were still around the club he'd have been great for Daine Laurie. I really enjoyed watching the combinations he was forming in the team when Doueihi was at five-eighth, and tbh I hope to see him finish the year off as strongly as he started. He only needs work on his defence IMO.
This is another reason I guess I'm also extra critical, as we still have to enhance the skill acquisition of our younger players and there should be nothing preventing this from happening yet we're still building as a team in cohesion, so it looks like another factor having a deterring effect on the team's progress.
In response to your comment I don't think they'd last under me ?
