Mo was loved by the club . And all it’s players . Was due to make his debut , and did his acl , or a season ending injury , can’t remember exactly , and yea , he did what he did .
Such a tragedy .
I think we are slim to no chance of bringing his brother here . It wouldn’t surprise me if there’s just too much sadness around it . It just seems like a wound that will never be healed.

Moeaki Fotuaika and Isaiah Papalili both have permission to talk to clubs November 1st

We need to get both in order to fix up our team, our pack lacks grunt and is incredibly lazy which is shown with how many times teams go through us up the middle.

Papalili is being paid like 250k and is due a hefty upgrade, eels may struggle to find the cash as they have both Gutherson, Mahoney and Matterson coming off contract the same time also while signing up Moses on a big money deal just recently and Nathan Brown too.

At 22, I’m honestly happy to throw 600-800k at him next year as he’s an exceptional player and the perfect candidate to partner Luciano in the second row.

Fotuakia will be the next best thing imo, has loads of talent and imo is the most underrated player in the league……

Maumalo Isaako, DWZ

Gotta have faith.

From what I saw of Maumalo in his first game with us, I wasn’t impressed….Plodder…..at least DWZ runs with vigour…..

We conceded 66 points. Doesn't matter how hard it looks they're running he makes big metres all the time, he's known to be a metre eater

What did you think of watching a real winger in action last night when Olam after picking up the loose ball his first thought was to get it to JAC? This is the problem with Maguire. First thought is hitting it up rather than finishing from anywhere on the field.

Trust me mate I'd rather have JAC than Maumalo but we needed a winger and he was the best on the market. I doubt he's on big coin so if we could sign a gun winger he could take a back seat.

We missed JAC, the Bulldogs got him. Coates was on the move but we end up with Maumalo.

A player like Coates who still needs to develop would always choose the Storm system to improve his game
We need to find a way to entice players to come
The COE will help but we need far more then that
We need a wealthy business man or women to help with third party payments
We should have someone in head office that can organise social events for the families of players so the women don't fell like they are being left alone
Think of it as a support group for the families
Maybe the club can organise outings for the children so the mums get some time to socialise with other mums in our club
We need to look outside the square and find out how to entice players and their families to join our club
Maybe support scholarships for children or Uni courses for wives if that is allowed
There is life after football so help these players and their families set themselves up for life after football
What can we do to help the families and not just the players

Some great ideas there. Talking about building culture, innovative ideas like these would help.

Yeah... Any such payments are included under the cap...

And there already are events where wifes and girlfriends socialise. Is there a demand for more? Who knows

Sure, the ACT is quieter than Sydney but it also comes with advantages, being close to the far south coast and ski fields. It's a quality of life issue as well. Hartigan and Co obviously have a system in place which value players, hence preventing the mistakes of recent past.

HOWEVER, we're not the Roosters and our recruitment valuations need to be modified to reflect where we're at as a club. We're not a destination club.

So, instead of valuing a player as a proportion of the entire cap (EG 10mil), the Tigers need to quarantine a portion of our cap for marquee Signing(s) top ups - say $1mil.

You've got no choice but to pay overs on a few players to turn the tide - and obviously the key is choosing the right player(s) to do so.

Point is, you can still afford to pay overs provided it's part of a concerted effort to manage the entire cap.

Cleary's contract management didn't work but neither is our current approach.

Maybe they haven't considered TPJ to worth anymore than what they offered?

There is a long way to go next season, there will be plenty of opportunities along the way and we still have the cash. Remembering we have to spend our cap?

IMO, you only need to get that one player who can turn this all around?

Manly - Turbo
Newcastle - Ponga
Titans - Fafita

That is true GNR. The Raiders now have the opportunity to offer players and their families a relatively Covid free existence in rural NSW. It's an attractive city and this is an advantage the Raiders should sell to potential recruits. Also, losing one of their best players to an already strong club is a backwards step for RL.

I don't know much about TPA's, but they're not included in cap value are they?

Players get sick of living their pretty quickly especially if they're used to Sydney or QLD

If you're winning it's fine but they've struggled and the cracks are appearing. They should be a top 6 side and are getting flogged and players are getting upset
