I'll back us for the spoon next year,
the dogs have a far more improved roster and will jump us
the broncos have improved in the key spots they lacked and will jump us
if it's not us then a team has had their points stripped for salary cap rorting

We are very good chance for next year to grab the spoon, but I think we are even a better chance to snatch it this year .

Do you actually bother to look at the competition ladder?

Another one giving predictions for 15 months away.

Thanks for the advice, but I do !!

Do you bother to look at how other teams are recuiting/building compared to our team

Another one just with head in the clouds

**not even just the recruiting**
the dogs play with more passion and drive than us and they have been bottom of the ladder for 3 years, the coach is a given for next year
the broncos are never down and out for long and Arey and co. will definitely help them out of that slump and every man and his dog wants to be a donkey
where are the tigers, can't sign a single marquee or can't find one that fits the team at the right price point, madge is a dead man walking according to some, the players are on their final notice according to others. about 3 blokes play with any sort of drive or motivation to perform.
the cowboys may give us a run for the spoon

How many Marquee players did the Riff and the Storm sign?

none, but they either had a coach that was cemented in their place, play with passion/drive/motivation/desire

I'm not a death-riding them, I'm being realistic, we are the only club of the bottom 3 who hasn't signed a bunch of guys who could get us out of this rut. our coach is on eggshells, the playing group is on notice. we aren't in a desirable location, we have 12 home grounds. what is there currently that between us and the dogs and broncos would make someone go "i'd prefer the tigers"? we have this "warchest" but so far that hasn't even attracted enough guys, the broncos have the jersey, location and the weekends off, the dogs have all this cash (apparently), a coach who has a secure job at least for next year and a jersey that is worn with pride.
for whatever reason we haven't got that pride down pact. we should, we have 2 proud heritages and a current one, and yet somehow they didn't manage to get that across to the blokes running around wearing the jumper
arguably our weakest spot is speed/wingers, and the guys we trialled from lower grades were proven not to be ready this year and now with the lower grade canned (or highly likely to be) they probably won't be any better equipped for nrl next year.
sure broncos and dogs have a new spine, but they will be in a better position this time next year with new combinations gelling, than we are running around with the same makeshift speedsters and x-factor 2nd rowers.

i like what they are doing with the lower grades, it's heading in the right directions, it's what we do best. but, madge will be given the flick by next season, and we are back to another coach saying this isn't my team give me time to get the guys we need and the cycle will continue

Do we have any blokes in Flegg who look like genuine talents? Someone who could potentially make an impact in 1st grade in a few years? Because even though we are going ok in KOE Cup there doesn't seem many, if any, players there who look like they will be anything more than fringe 1st-graders unfortunately.

Good point, it’s under21’s now so most of them would be due to make their mark or they might not ‘have it’

One things for sure.
Nobody will sign here if they don't know who the coach will be next year.
The more talk of Maguire getting punted the less chance of anyone decent coming here.

Thats a very valid point because of our past , but if the money is right then players will sign.

There’s no way we won’t be favourites for it

Statistically the team that starts as favourites for it never ends up with it. So that’s a good sign.
Unless maybe the knights in 2015-2017.

If we lose out on Pangai, this might sound dumb but I think it ruins our chances next year automatically

I don’t wanna sound negative, but there’s no real other player available for next year who will make a difference for us.

If we go into next year with this squad, with the English boys coming in I do think we miss the 8 again

Whereas, if we bring in Pangai automatically our packs looks a lot stronger by one acquisition. Our pack has talent, but the introduction of TPJ makes us much more balanced with the skill set he brings not really being replicated by anyone else we have.

8. Stefano Utoikamanu - 21
9. Jacob Liddle or Jake Simpkin - 24 and 19
10. Alex Twal - 25
11. Luciano Leilua - 25
12. Tevita Pangai Jr - 25
13. Joe Ofanguaue - 25

Instantly our pack looks much stronger, with the depth we have coming off the bench as well (Blore, Seyfarth, Mikale, Tuki, Tuilagi) and the youth as well! Our pack could all hit there primes and grow together which is exciting

Please do not butcher this tigers hierarchy

I would love WT to sign up for a outside company to analysis with surveys and discussions with players that have signed with WT, players that WT approached but didnt sign with them, players that have left WT, and maybe also a random sample of other NRL players why they did / didnt come to WT, what we could do better and their impression of WT. AND of course included in the survey the player managers.

I have said often that WT do have a story to tell potential players and it s not bad and the history of both original clubs and the new merged club should be worth listening to. So, lets hear from the horses mouth about their attitude to WT.

If its a generational thing and they just dont want the hard work, our only option is t build from within. If its something we can fix or tell better, lets do it.

Probably why they're looking at trading him for Cotric (according to the 'grapevine')

Where was this discussed?

And then I'd throw in Vaughn in the mix, if we could secure him for $350-400K.
