Have heard Hoffman may move on as he feels he was due an op before Pagua based on convos with coach.

thanks mate. has there been much said about William Kei? been plenty of talk around him for years but he hasn't done anything in Flegg or Cup to warrant that chatter imo

I see Harley Smith-Shields named in 21 for Raiders... Does anyone have an update on him as there was talk it was looking good? I just assume we missed him also

I heard Smith Shields was keen on us unless the Raiders came up with more. I think we offered a pretty good deal. There could be a lot more going on...I get my info from a player manager and it's only what he hears in respect of his own players. For example, Fletcher Baker's manager has approached a few clubs, WT included because the Roosters haven't offered him a lot of money and they think they can get more. My man also has a front rower looking for a job, and the clubs will throw Baker back at him as a better prospect so he keeps his demands in check. BTW, I asked him about the Cotric thing and he said he'd heard nothing but didnt think the Dogs would be that stupid!

The Cotric thing is nonsense and was a rumour started by a fanboy.

@Demps suck it.

Guess we'll see what Pauga is made of on Sunday arvo. From what I've seen of Hoffman this year, he's no world beater.

Personal sense is, Hoffman's too slow for centre and not big enough for the 2nd row.

Agree, not a massive loss if he moves on.

The kid to keep an eye on is Jordan Hill. Winger in Flegg. Tall, super fast indigenous kid. Unfortunately did his ACL against the dogs earlier in the year.

Comes from a great family and loves the club. Not signed beyond this year, but seems a formality.

Recovery is ahead of schedule and should be right for pre-season. Can still play flegg next year.

EDIT: Also should mention he's a local Holy Cross boy.

Shame he was injured ..scoring TRIES for fun earlier in the year..good defender for a winger as well..

Plenty of centres not that quick , Jamie Lyon and Matt Gidley two of the better ones, it’s a defensive position in the best sides. Can the Hoff use his shoulders?

I agree with this summary.

Not a bad prospect, but lacking X factor in attack, not that fast, ok in defence. A solid player who works hard but seems to lack that something to step up.

Let's see what Pauga offers.

He does look promising, sad that Covid and injury have limited him to a handful of Flegg games in the past 2 years.

There's a vid on YouTube of him playing for holy Cross which I'm sure someone will post. Very fast, hope we lock him up for a few years

Jordan is supposedly being offered 1 (2yrs > NRL). Unsure of the others.

How come all of our best young players are doing their ACLs? Good god.

So its SOO game 3 tonight and once Again Fox Sports has the main article as
"Knives out after Tigers player revolt" ... Not anything about game 3 of the SOO which is the main event of the year..
Clearly there is an agenda there from them and that's fine but it surely doesn't help us recruitment.. This is a time when I would have no problem with Lee coming out to defend the club but not mention any possible signings of course..

I think it's pretty common now. ACL's are part of the game. Any player who has a turn of pace and move laterally quite well are going to be at risk.

Yep, it’s constant.

The battering we cop is ridiculous.

Whatever the agenda is, it’s blatantly clear we sell stories for whoever is posting them.

I know of two kids, both gifted athletes at 14 years of age who have just done ACLs. Never heard of this happening when I was growing up but kids are just bigger and heavier now which must be a contributing factor.

Yeah, i have had a few kids I have coached over the years do them. It was tough being in the area I worked most didn't have private health insurance so ended up on a waiting list for surgery.

Chris Johns was an extremely under rated centre ...extremely good defensively ...reasonably quick .....great hands
