1) Tim sheens is boarding a flight tomorrow

2) Tigers confirming with NRL if final spot is still to be filled by 1st of Aug due to Covid

Seems like an incredibly stupid and naive question. Surely all clubs have known what the rules are for some time. We do what we can to get someone from outside and then promote someone like Pauga if necessary

They are asking if the current situation changes the requirement, makes sense to me?

But all the players are in the same bubble in Queensland. We probably wouldn't be asking to bring in someone from outside. If it was a promotion of a junior even then Pauga is already with us up there in any case. So not sure what difference it makes, just that we're stalling

It's not about who is in the bubble, it is about who moves into the top 30 in regards to player payments etc.

I believe the teams in QLD are made up of 30 players plus 11 staff 41 in total.

We took up 29 players and 12 staff + truck load of equipment .

+ Robbie didn't go into bubble so didn't travel to QLD.

Why would we take 12 staff if that locks out player 30? (If there was any immediate signings)
TPJ is elligible to play in round 20. Given he makes a switch.

Finucane is unfortunately no longer in the elite players like Yeo, Murray, Radley, B Smith etc. He is tough and meticulous, however not having a pass at the line is a big negative.

I do agree with you there, but from my perspective we have Twal that pretty much does the same job for cheaper.

I agree that Finucane is a good plodder along the lines of Twal. I'd keep Twal over Finucane. There is no way we need another forward in that mold.

He is a good player. Tamou and Twal are good players. I think Twal is probably the best option over the next couple of years out of the three of them.

It'd be madness for us to throw marquee dollars at Finucane. We should throw that money only at players like Latrell.

I don't want Finucane at all. He's just a solid player.

I don't believe he is worth the price he is asking.

He would be no better than Josh Jackson outside the Melbourne system IMO

You're more than likely correct - we would have been best off getting him 5 years ago at the peak of his powers.

Agreed. We can add Finucane to the list of players the forum doesn't think good enough to represent the hugely successful Tigers.
Other notables include JAC, Latrell, Burton, Nicho Hynes, Cotric, Cameron Smith and TPJ.
Bums the lot of 'em not worthy of representing the Wests juggernaut.

On the WT site, they are saying all 3 are injured?

After sustaining an ACL tear earlier this year, Kepaoa is moving through rehab programs as expected is and is currently working through an intense strengthening program. He will return to running in the next four to six weeks as he eyes off a return in time for the start of the 2022 season.

Packer is continuing to work through his knee injury with a gradual increase in his running load at the moment, while Musgrove has been unsuccessful in a conservative management plan for his foot fracture — progressing him to a surgical repair and a non-weight bearing program for the next four weeks.

Don’t think so
I think the rule is you can only negotiate with a player if they are off contract the following year

I’d be surprised if most clubs follow that rule though.
