He would come cheap and it would not be long term but he would come into the 13 straight up. If we don't get him at least it will make dogs pay more

I would have no problems getting him for 400-450k for 2 years and not for his leadership but more for his work he does on the field.

panga and Vaughan sounds like a culture disaster. just sign Norman and the dogs are set

Curtis Scott could be useful as well.

hahaha classic.

he's available isn't he, Scott, Norman, pangai, Vaughan, naden.

what could go wrong

They’ll finish above us next year

I don't think they will!

I actually think we will add a few good signings to the roster before the 2022 season....we have to. Heaps of cash which is a plus. There will be players from other clubs given approval to negotiate elsewhere. The players we bring on mightn't be 'marquee' in nature but should at least raise the standard of the current 17.

Would love to think you're correct but I'm skeptical. We will have the money but I don't know how much quality will be available and then we tend to apply really rigorous valuations to players and don't go for them because we don't want to pay 'overs'. Hope you're right and I'm wrong.

Elites would be nice, but there not coming, imo, we need hard nosed workers, Josh Jackson type blokes who will give it everything every game.

How old are the bros? Any chance we might see them play next year, or too young?

There will be players we can sign for 2023 with money from Mbye, we can also aim to get them for 2022 like Daine Laurie for example with Packer/Reynolds money.

That's not counting the players who will become available season's end. More and more player moves have been happening at the end of the season.

50/50

No 50/50 about it if we basically have the same squad

I think we will place higher than the dogs

No way you can say that with a straight face

Just so we are all clear a prediction is not a fact, so nobody is right yet. I agree with annandale I think Dogs haven't recruited astutely. They will improve but they could hardly do worse. I think Barrett is a poor coach - lifetime win record 34%.

I said earlier, Barrett will be lucky to see out next season, with Gould telling him where he is going wrong, every minute of the day.

Cleary wanting him gone asap. If Barrett were to go, I could see a Morris type character going there so Phil could pull all the strings with Morris as the face.

Gould would be a coach deterrent after the griffin fiasco

I'd enter the race purely to make them pay more put their cap out of whack even further.

Pretty Sure our pack owned the Dragons pack twice this year.

Perhaps you should re read my comment

Perhaps you should consider the consequences of proposing a dodgy player negotiation. But, sorry, I quoted from the wrong post. The comment was to highlight to the previous poster that we don't need him at any price. But setting the Dogs up and pulling out will just make us, as a Club, seem even less trustworthy for future recruits.

Mate i dont really want Vaughn here either but contract negs are a game in which we obviously dont excel at, so whatever upper hand we can gain to help us not suck as much would be handy. We've lost quite a few targets to the dogs if they have less money to spend thats better for us imo.

Nice, looking forward to 2026.

exactly, last year it was 2021 when we had a war chest, now its 2023..

we're not that far off imo. we need a decent centre, a gun backrower and a ball playing 13. bit of depth on the wing won't go astray either. we find those and we'll be ok.

A lot of people think we're miles away but it's not quite true.

Think for a moment if we'd beaten Cowboys, Titans and Warriors - games we should have won. We were desperately unlucky against Souths. Most of these losses didn't come from mass team failings, most were simple individual misses in defence - people being lazy, not moving, being out of position etc.

We win two or three of those games and we're sitting well in the eight. The goal is to change from a losing mentality to a winning attitude.

We can't keep losing games we should win.
