I'd love him here. He is exactly what we need. I don't think we should ever pay huge overs unless it's for one year only.

I'd pay 1.5 million for a top player for 1 year and then 500k per year after that. I don't think you can ruin the cap long term.

It wouldn't bother me at all especially if I was getting a massive amount that first year. If the players wouldn't take that then it's no deal. You can't wreck your cap for years on end.

At the end of the day you still get the same amount and its taxed at the same rate also. Getting it 1st year or over 3yrs shouldn’t make much of a difference especially on that type of salary.

Be great for members & fans to hear some juniors signing news too given the club’s focus on junior pathways. Even that news gives us all hope & knowledge that recruitment is moving ahead.

On the subject, James Hooper mentioned in his blog we have lost promising junior Jaxson Rahme. This kid was an emerging SG Ball Tigers prop & dominated at the recent NSW school carnival. Very disappointing if true.

But I thought there was a strategy! Yeh right !!

We snapped up that other prop and Saukuru brothers . Maybe he saw limited game time here , as those boys were all nsw/ nz / aus squad players .
Seriously why even follow the club ?

These posts annoy me. You don’t know how much Snake or other fans have invested in the club, both financially and with their time. Just because someone has a differing view of how the club is going doesn’t make them less of a supporter.

They only annoy you because they invalidate your own world view , and undermine your position .
I’m not saying blindly follow the club , but when he says things like “I thought there was a strategy , yea right “ , how is that a differing opinion ? It’s nothing of the sort . Is negativity for negativity’s sake .
If 1 kid who has above average talent , not elite talent , above average , leaves, it doesn’t undermine the whole idea of building . Nor does signing some gun player either .
A series of elite juniors leaving or signing , along with pathway degradation , or improvement may , or may not .
It’s series of events that leads a pathway to what may lie in the future .
And outside of a really poor first grade , which sux , it’s mind boggling , but anyways , we have won at all junior levels , signed smart people, brought back Tim sheens , along with Kimmorley , and continue to sign elite juniors .
The law of averages says this strategy will work, it just takes time , and patience . Something guys like you and snake , have zero time for .
For me , it’s been ten years , what’s another one .
Because I’d much rather sustained success , than 1 or 2 good years then not much.

You know exactly what I’m saying , I explained it clearly . Being negative is fine . We all vent , but what’s the point of constantly every single post , sentence is a backhanded compliment , or outright negativity.
I disagree with you a lot as well . As you rarely offer any solution to your whinging . It’s fine to point out flaws , and problems , but rarely do you offer solutions .
And snake never does .

I don’t want to fight . As I like hearing your alternate view, and at times I’ve shifted to an idea you’ve had because you’ve validated it concisely , and offered reasoning .
And most of the time I don’t agree . But that’s ok . I’m sure you’re a good bloke , we just offer different world views .

But like I said , I hate whinging with no solution , and I hate bullying or mob mentality (not applicable here).
So when I see it , I’ll call it out , especially when it’s not true . As is in this situation.

That sent the alarm bells off and next thing Fulton , Gibbs etc had resigned with the club. Funny enough we won the comp 2 years later.
