Well in fairness Manly signed Paseka in 2016, ahead of 2017, and he didn't debut until 2018. At the end of 2018 they extended him for another 3 seasons, so he's already on his second Manly deal. He got another extension in 2020, until end of 2024.

Paseka has played 64 matches in 4 seasons of first grade for Manly (average 16 per season) and only started 7 times (44 matches) in his first 3 seasons. He only became a regular starter in 2021. He did not play first grade in 2017.

Credit therefore to Manly to getting the kid to starting front row capability, but it took them 4 full seasons to achieve it. If I contrast that journey against someone like Stefano, I personally think Stefano is already at Paseka's level, if not better, and he's achieved that in less than 1 season.

Paseka was coming off under 20s origin and got out of a big money deal at WT to go to Manly. Mavoni is doesn’t always make the starting team in Flegg.

He might make it, but he’ll need a good 3 years to get there. Maybe then we can sign him back when the dogs are in cap trouble.
