I hope Gildart improves dramatically, from what i've seen of him he won't come close to cutting it in NRL. His defence is terrible.

If thats the case then he wont look out of place.

As horrifying as it is to say, i'm not sure he's an upgrade on what we have (on what i've seen of him this year). Defence is terrible, he's very small, and he's prone to errors.

I'd prefer not to read this. We need centres desperately.

HSS is nearly on his way. Looks like we've outbid Raiders. Whether it's enough to pry him away from them we'll soon see.

Will Pryce, 18, has only played six first-grade games but has already been earmarked as England’s future five-eighth at Test level.

The Daily Telegraph now reports Pryce - son of Britain great Leon - has made waves Down Under and at least one NRL club is considering making a play for the young talent.

HSS has some upside. Have only seen him on the wing for Raiders but he is a solid dude who runs hard and puts in. I read somewhere that he is actually a centre which might suit us if he can defend in that position. He seems to be a competitor which is absolutely essential with any signing we make from now on!!

Watched him recently playing for the Raiders is Ok would be a straight swap for Nuffie otherwise see no reason playing Reggies .. would be a better option than Nuffie but 4 mores of the same !

have to say I don't pay too much attention to lower grades or esl

Winger from the raiders, played last few weeks in 1st grade

He's looked good I've thought. Hasn't broken the game open but he's tall and athletic, scored a nice try and did really well to bat a ball back into play while jumping over the dead ball line. Would be a solid signing, he's a centre who's been pushed to the wing.

I wouldn’t call 6ft tall. But he is solidly built about 94kg. I’d say similar to nofa but if he reads a shift better than it’s ok. I’m worried we are going down the path of recruiting too many small agile players. There is certainly a need for the big athlete in the game and the top teams have shown that.

We have some big backs Maumalo is 6’5 111kgs, Talau 6’2 95 kgs, Douihei 6’3 95 kgs,
Nofa is near 6 foot 92kgs. If anything we lack explosive speed. Smith Shields is a centre more than a winger which we need.

Gutho can definitely run. He was clocking some fast speeds in the early games.
Otherwise agreed. You don't want to offer him huge amounts of money. You want to pick him up for less then what we did Reynolds. That won't be happening.

That being said, can we coach a fullback to organise the backline? Billy Slater was always called out at the Storm for keeping their backline organised and managed. I think Bellamy drilled it into him. Early on Slater did not care, early on Slater just grabbed the ball and ran right past the first 3 defenders sometimes scoring of receiving the ball from the oppositions kick.

Then Slater got coached in how to manage a backline.

Tedesco, Latrell, Turbo did not come too the game knowing how to manage the backline. If we want that, it will be 2 years min for Laurie (no slant against Laurie). We have to coach it into the fullback how to manage defense,
