Call me silly but I believe that statement.
At the end of the day, the club probably doesn't share too much with us fans though... even the ones with closer contact.

Need a strike centre and another edge back rower.

We have some options. Move AD to the centres. Gildart/Talau/Roberts may do the job in the centres.

Hopefully Blore and Tuilagi come good.

I agree with you though that our edges are ordinary and need a massive improvement. It's just not that bad. I'd love to get a quality player like Thompson.

Centre is definitely weak for us.
The mentioned players are not in anyway strike players.

This club hasn't bought a first grade centre to the club since Paul Whatuira in 2004.. (No that is NOT a joke)
It seems like we forget the position exists.

We also need another starting backrower, We have plenty of back ups - But we need a top tier back rower.

And for gods sake - BUY A 'KEN CENTRE

Tim Simona was a good centre.
But yeah, this has been a obvious concern for years.

I really hope it is addressed before season 2022 kick off.

All the talk from Madge leads me to believe he really likes Talau and he's in the plans going forward which doesn't fill me with much optimism...

Simona could have been the Games best winger... All his highlights are from Wing Play. He played OK at centre - But would be lucky to hold that position in any other club at that time. Fantastic Winger - OK at centre when needed.
To my point though, Tim came through 20's - We haven't bought a quality centre to the club since 04...
And haven't really developed any either..

Also, Dean Collis looked absolutely amazing for one season, then he fell off the wagon for some reason.

It has always been a mystery to what happened to Collis. Anyone know of a particular reason?

There's nothing to suggest we haven't. We're not the 'loose lips'.

You can be certain it's his agent putting it out there to see what else he can drum up. I doubt very much we've had any contact with any media about Thomson signing.

He said the market place is quiet at the moment and not a lot of talent available.

Has talks every day with Madge and co. Regarding recruitment.

Said they're waiting to see what becomes available regarding player unrest or cap pressure at clubs.

I mentioned the players, Smith Shields and Butcher and he said no offers had been made.....

You can email him and ask questions too if you ask but as I said, I doubt they're 100% open, honest and transparent with us fans because it's a business at the end of the day. We aren't privy to all the details and comings and goings.

I would speculate we have no control over what the player managers or other clubs do it say…

I personally don’t mind. It gives us something to discuss ☺️ It’s not as if an article in a gossip column dictates the final decision?

When you are dating you meet someone you like, you start up a conversation, go out to dinner. Maybe check out each others lifestyle, houses facilities etc. Then if all goes well you move in together.

Offering a contract is moving in together.

For the club to say we didn't offer a contract simply means we dated but it didn't work out

can someone ask/email Pascoe if they are going to extend Steffs contract now, for another two years, or upgrade him so that he doesn't get poached end of next year when other clubs can.

I know we have him for another two years but other clubs already be in his managers ear about him holding off.

We should upgrade his pay, for the next two years because we got him cheap, IF he signs for another two years on top of that.

Maumalo and Nofo, aren't the fastest but they definitely aren't the slowest.

Nofo, we only see run sideways usually though.

Both are tidy finishers and are capable of doing their job...

Nofo needs to get back to his best. The lengthy contract has appeared to kill his motivation and desire.

With some better centres inside them, they could both take their game to the next level.

Actually they are the slowest wing combo in the league. By a long, long way. The fact we also have slow centres only exasperates this. We can't compete with the pace and skill of the top sides, we can't exploit opportunities.

Both can play a role as a battering ram. Nof needs to be dropped next season to give him a wake up call, he's been bludging all season.
