Yea he has done ok MCK , he tries hard , far from shambolic i think , some supposed supporters just like laying the boot in

Why don’t you reply to the comment instead of sly jabbing in your own posts 😂 pass the pipe whenever you want mate, thinking this club has any idea what they’re doing.

Just read Benny Elias' comments about recruiting a former halves legend as a mentor.
The last time this was discussed was when Matty Johns turned up to a training session.
It's a good idea and probs overdue.
If we couldn't get Cronk, Thursty, Freddy or either Johns brother, who would we take?...
I'd suggest James the Roaster Maloney.
Newly retired, a job offer upon returning to Aus, good with people/larrikins, gifted play-maker and game-manager, but most importantly, driven to succeed and a tremendous competitive streak.
The man has a winning mentality and that's something we need to instill in the majority of the squad, so the halves wont be the sole benefactors of his tutalege and his aura.
Plus, if we bamboozle him with how great we think he is and what a great opportunity it is to impart his own personal DNA on the current/next crop of players, we might get him extra cheap...

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have reportedly entered discussions with Wests Tigers' centre and back rower Michael Chee-Kam.

So advanced are the talks, according to an Sydney Morning Herald report, it's understood the Rabbitohs are almost certainly set to sign the 29-year-old for the 2022 season and beyond.

Wests Tigers' coach Michael Maguire was supposedly against re-signing Chee-Kam, but has changed his stance in the past month, having had him start in each of the last four games at centre.

The Tigers stand to lose Chee-Kam though, who has been underused this season horrifically. In the first 20 rounds, Chee-Kam had just one start at centre, as well as two games from the bench and one appearance from 18th man. He served as the 18th man on ten occasions during that period.

Chee-Kam has previously been a much bigger part of the Tigers' system, having moved from the Manly Sea Eagles at the end of 2015. He played 22 games in each of 2017, 2018 and 2019, scoring six tries in the later of those.

He only played nine games last year though before things got worse this time around and may be looking for a change to reinvigorate his career, which currently sits on 92 matches.

The Tigers will be looking to bring Zac Cini into first grade on a more permanent basis in the 2022 season, and with Moses Mbye leaving the club, there will be less competition in the backs should Chee-Kam also depart.

It's unclear how Chee-Kam would fit into the South Sydney system, however, he would undoubtedly be in with a chance at a spot on the bench in new coach Jason Demetriou's best 17.

Any truth in this?

Well, he certainly hasn't been 'horrifically underused'.

To mentor who? We need halves first…lol

Why don't we some of the older boys, regardless if the game has changed - they would still be making an impact in the game with advice of theirs...

True. Would be added benefit if they were one of our own.

The more I think about it, the areas we need to address is mentally strong players.

The reason we missed the 8 is not down to talent (should have beaten warriors twice, cowboys at Leichhardt and Titans at Campbelltown). Those losses came from an inability to handle pressure.

Madge will know who these players are (Mbye is one), and if we can get rid of them and replace them with tough players, that’s the difference IMO.

We wouldn’t be able to put a team on the field

Check out Hastings and Gildart in last night's game against Castleford if you can.

Hastings scored and so did Gildart....

Both these players should do well for us....

if bateman is genuinely wanting to return to NRL, does anyone else get a feeling we may actually be a chance? already has hastings and gildart coming here
