We'd be silly not to sign up Thompson and Bateman, both of them deserve another chance in the NRL - but at no more than $400-$450K p/y

Ricky did it and resurrected the Faiders in 2019 with John and George. With Jackson and Oliver joining us in 2022 it's a no brainer, instant chemistry!

There is NO chance of getting either Batman or Thompson for under 450k as they are international players but that's just my opinion.
Batman 500-600k might do it and Thompson 650k with Dogs contributing a 200k first year to make up his current salary of 850k. We need to be realistic as we are not a top team and guaranteeing them finals etc..

Bateman is only worth $450k max in my opinion, he hasn't looked great at Wigan this year - but he was a game changing 11 at Canberra. It sounds like he realises that he made a mistake going back to England and he wants to resurrect his NRL career.

If we sign him we should add conditions to his contract, $450k year 1, $550K year 2 (performance based) and then a WTs option in year 3.

Luke has a problem that downgrades his worth. He doesn't play by the rules and has missed 10 weeks in suspensions over the last 2 years.

In saying that the right coach will bring out the best in both of them.

Question is, is Madge that coach?

Madge for me is the right coach.. He has just gone through hell and built all the foundations to have this club successful long term and not a quick fix (like Dogs) so for me deserves a shot and getting some of the glory that is coming.

**The dogs are in trouble, they can't afford to carry on with there to offer Asiata?**

ASIATA’S DOG SWITCH OFF

The Bulldogs bid to land John Asiata appears to have fallen through due to salary cap constraints.

The Dogs have pulled out of talks to land the Broncos forward owing to the lack of cash available in their salary cap.

Gus said on Twitter they have no money left for next year and the last spot will be filled with a minimum wage player.

I wasn’t saying is he an option as I don’t know anything about him tbh?
I was more just stating the Dogs have put themselves into a corner, that is going to be hard to get out of, (we’ve been there)?

Asiata is an okay player, he is a good ball playing forward if the club is interested in that

John Bateman would be terrific however seems like nothing but a thought up rumour at the moment. Him on the right edge and Luciano to lock (sharing the role with Seyfarth) and Blore on the left would be very nice

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Tevita Funa and Andrew Davey from the sea eagles. Funa is off contract and can play centre, wing, fullback and has spent time at 6 as well. Davey is a 2nd rower who is off contract 2022 , if a Garner swap is still on the cards i think this guy could really add to the team

Funa is a solid player of NRL standard. Can cover centre wing or fullback. Definitely a handy player in your 30 man squad. I wouldn’t be letting go of Garner he’s on a low contract and has improved every year. If one of our edge forwards goes down I’m not sure Tuilagi is ready to play 80 minutes over an entire season.

Darryn Schonig is still off contract, big powerful forward who could be really good off the bench. Still only young too, I'd sign him up.

Coming off ACL? We either sign him or Amone. Not both

Good call @jc99. Ive been saying this guy for a while now.
He would be perfect for our young forward pack as he is not that much older than what we have now apart from Tamou.

😛ray: 😛ray:

It wasnt an ACL , apparently he subluxed his knee cap
(whatever that is) was off for 10 - 12 weeks back in April.

I'd take him over Amone for sure

From Healthline - A sublauxed knee cap is a full disllocation of the knee cap. A 2015 studyTrusted Source found a lower rate of recurrence of full dislocation of the kneecap in people who had surgical treatment. But the rate of recurrence of patellar subluxation was almost the same (32.7 versus 32.8 percent), whether the person had surgery or not.

When was the last time WT won the last game of the season?

2005

Actually we lost the last game of the regular season in 2005.

2017 is the answer to the question.

Thanks mate. Think Bulldogs might continue the pain.

Pretty typical Tigers end of season.
