Disappointing to see a number of our best performers in the undefeated flegg side are not signed up.

Ogden, Hill, Pole not signed for next year (yet) and we’ve already lost Tuifua.

Pole has been signed for next year, Ogden’s manager met with Hartigan last week and Hill is highly rated by the club

From what I've heard Hill has literally been offered a bag of peanuts to stay at the club next season and there are other clubs now circling as they see an opportunity.

I would love to see Hill stay - the kid is talented and we lack serious depth on the wing, and he's a genuine finisher. I'll be filthy if the club don't retain and the imbecile in charge of retaining juniors should be out the door.

Not sure - not impressed with him either way so far.

Agree. There was comments a couple of weeks back where 'someome' was signing players without consulting the coach ? Seems like everything seems to circle back to Hartigan, just my speculation.

Hartigan does the majority of negotiating contracts when signing new players or extending existing ones, Madge has a say but Hartigan is the primary negotiator in nutting out a deal.

I do also think though that players not wanting to play under Maguire plays a big part in lack of quality signings.

Would like to know as he appears to be someone who spends a lot of time sitting on his hands

Hopefully they're re working the offer to keep the kid.

We can't keep losing our up and coming best.
Sick of watching most games and saying, "oh, another Tigers junior..." as they're successful elsewhere.

I think there's a good crop of the current lads we need to stick with.

Keen to see Dudley wonder if they'll stick him on wing or centre. Keen as on him. There doing lots in junior space wouldn't be too worried.

I understand that Hartigan is the GM and commonly that person is responsible for the recruitment and retention, among other matters

He would report to the CEO (Pascoe) and generally, consult with his coaches (juniors and first grade) on current player performance and decisions on their retention before making those decisions.

Who, besides Pooper, has mentioned he and Maguire are not good together?

I have come to the realisation that no one is good enough to wear the mighty Wests Tigers jersey..either too old ,too young play like superman in Origin, or a goody goody or a dickhead a has been or a never was..

So we don't sign anybody..

This is what everyone that I know at the club tells me. I thought he was a good operator.

Seen enough to show that there is ability there. I mean seriously, you can't wait until these guys are unearthed or you'll never lure them away from the top clubs without paying overs. Players aren't lining up to sign here. Just because we've taken risks on old flops and lost doesn't mean we have to stop taking risks on young players. People on here crap on about signing deadshits like Vaughan and Paulo who seriously offer nothing that this club doesn't already have. What we don't have is a centre built like a brick shithouse.


Um Vaughn and Paulo would walk straight into our starting front row. Aside from Stefano who is better?

Comparing them to Seve is really laughable. Our forward pack sucks and gets dominated against every week.

Re Seve he doesn’t offer us anything different he just adds to our current reserve grade centers. He is solid but struggles in defense, often gets pushed off or caught out. He is also 26 and played 2 games & filled in for the storm this year. Goes against our youth policy as well. If he is the one we think can solve our center issues we are beyond series trouble.

Disgree with the forwards comment, the forwards we have are solid, they may have been dominated once by the storm but that was more to do with the speed of the Storms ruck and less to do with the collision. Parramatta dominated us with 2nd phase play and Souths dominated us with their speed, we matched Penriths pack twice and mostly held our own on both occasions. We dominated the Dragons pack twice, a pack Vaughn is a part of.

I never said Seve was a world beater, the world beaters are all signed and sealed up. But he adds some size to our centres depth whether he's our best option or not.

Geez solid… that worked well for us this year…..
our forwards have been dominated against, they struggle to make 100mtrs+ a game. Our post contact meters in the forwards are shocking & well the defense is terrible as they can’t drive back or man up which allows 2nd phase play & width for teams to attack our flanks. Our backrowers cram infield to be the 2nd & 3rd man in often due to the middles not holding there own and as such often creates a good 20-30mtrs and overlaps for our centers/wingers to deal with

Our best pack is 2-3 quality starting forwards short, 100% if we buy no one and keep the existing bunch they never come close to finals ever. This same pack finished at best 2 games out of the top 8, at worst 3 games.

Each to their own, some people are blinded by us being average and wanting us to stay that way.

If you're back maybe you could do research on something already spoken about a lot.

Ultimately he was the 4th best prop in Flegg. Powerful but terrible fitness and defence. Just so lazy, , if you can barely last 10 mins in Flegg you'll get massacred against men. Sure he's good for a barnstorming run or two but you need more than running over smaller opponents in Flegg to make the step up.

We have several better props than him from this year's Flegg and joining our Flegg next season.

I remember Gould saying something a little while back when we signed Sheens. It was in code, but talked about needing footy experience in admin. At the time I thought he was talking about Hartigan.

Its funny because Hartigan gets a great wrap by those in the know on the forum like @cochise
