So Scott, Elliot and Woods it is then, i would take it the jet would likely go and Amone also cant say im overly enthused about any of this but it is what it is.

Tamou would have to go to.

Woods is better.

Im not opposed to getting rid of tamou the best thing hes done this season is hold some pom pom's on the sideline.

What a huge disappointment he has been. After captaining Penrith to 17 straight victories and a GF I was expecting so much better. Talk about going from the penthouse to the outhouse.

Stef and Twal were both good. I wonder if that’s Tamou effect?

The only effect Tamou causes is nausea?

Really not enthused about Woods either. Would prefer we go for another young prop who will run hard. Woods still makes metres but they're the typical stat padding runs we always got from him at Wests.

Having said that, I'd rather pick up Scott, Elliot and Woods for 650K all up than sign Kikau for $900K.

One way to look at it is having Woods as an addition opens up the opportunity for Mikalee to be that hard running prop not having to be so burned by defence.

Yeah great bring in Elliot. Surely he’d be chasing history as the first player to win back to back spoons with different clubs.

Technically he got stood down before he got awarded with it.

Curtis Scott's management reached out to the club last week to gage interest & proposed a similar deal to that of James Roberts, 1st year heavily incentive based deal with an option for a 2nd year in the clubs favour. The club is taking this into serious consideration since Talau's injury.

Adam Elliott will only be entertained as a possible recruit if his value is far less than that of his Dogs contract with certain clauses in place also.
In all both could be recruited & cost a maximum of 350k-400k for the pair of them.

I realize it’s not you making these decisions, however I’m sick of the club coming out and boasting about these great bargain buys they got. You know why we got them at that price? Because no one else wanted them. How about instead of buying average players for low prices we buy good players for what they’re worth

You need a bit of both. Have guys like this with first grade experience on low coin frees up more room up the top of the cap. The problem is we never seem to have anyone interested worth the bigger coin.

Amone is a keeper , just needs game time , when he was bought on most games we’re gone , good off season and he will go ok and not expensive

I think he is the kind of player that you can keep around at the bottom of the roster on minimum coin.

After not being able to get anyone else better in, or identify junior talent that would benefit from limited exposure to first grade

It feels like people think we only need 2 props in our squad. You need 6 or 7 props in a 30 man squad. The question especislly at 200k a year isnt whether your rather Woods over Mikelle or Twal or Stefano but would you rather Woods over what we git out of Packer or Amone this year or would get next year out of Amone or another NSW cup level prop next year.

My 2c is that when we had props out injured or suspended which you usally do that Woods would be great depth. He is also passionate, experienced and is known for being the first guy at training in the morning doing the extras - I remember John Morris saying he would arrive in the darkness and Woodsy would often be their already when no one else was. That is what a team like ours without enough leaders and without enough expeirence needs as a 6th prop. If he out performs the others and makes our nrl team then they need to work harder

Dont need another tamou, Woods already showed his passion towards the tigers

For next year we need to continue on the same path of youth and stop with players with issues. We are not a strong club to cater for these types.

I’d be targeting players off contract in 2022 that are looking for an opportunity or at clubs with depth that may have to release players due to salary cap.

Franklin Pele, Toultau Koula, Reuben Cotter, Maratha Niukore, Herbie Farnworth, Tom Starling, Cade Cust.

The only rumoured veterans on the market I’d take on short term deals would be Tariq Sims.

100% agree mate. Believe cust has signed with the bulldogs but I like a lot of the other names mentioned

We can’t go into next season with this years team, that’s madness, while I agree with a youth policy, you need some experience mingled with them.
I am sure the club have enough people with footy smarts to consider what’s best at this time for the team, we only had to win 2-3 of those unlosable games we lost, and we would have been in the finals.
We need to get some signings and keep a few open for later.

Maybe we should rebrand - junkyard dogs?

Some talk on NRL360 of potentially Ciraldo to be head coach. What are people's thoughts? I think it could be a circuit breaker. Pair him with Sheens as a mentor who could add clout to our brand and ability to attract players, and put the right assistant coaches around him (mix of steady older respected guys and other rising younger assistants) and we might start to build a bit of buzz for recruiting.

He could probably jag a couple of key blokes from his Penrith knowledge and links to them, and it might just be enough to get another couple of key potential recruits over the line as well. Once you can start building momentum as a destination club, it can snowball.

Could possibly build instant rapport with our young core as well and bring them on even quicker. Couldn't do worse in terms of our current defensive structures. Could be a corner turner moment.

I reckon taking on Woods again is a step backwards, a bit like the way he runs.... All jokes aside he's soooooo slow in a game that is getting faster and faster. His type of prop played a decade ago and he isn't getting any better. His D around the ruck is average as well. We need to move on from him and all his past history at the club also. We want a hard hitting impact prop to pair up with Stef and give us some starch, and a front row that other teams are afraid of. I'd rather see Dias get some time in NRL than us sign Woods.
