Knox again.

What chance this happening in the NRL in the next 10 years?

I don't think there'll be changes at the top for a while. The inequality is getting worse, and the NRL seems happy with it.

The AFL has a draft. The NRL has a salary cap that is not realistic as we all know. Underperforming teams pay overs for players and the traditional 'super' teams pay unders. It makes it especially difficult for teams like Wests to compete. It is not a level playing field.

Why is it up to the NRL to make it a level playing field? Why handicap the good clubs?

So they have someone to play against and supporters to pay the bills?

Benji makes another GF

Really like this

Was robbed of some of his glory years due to injury, as much as he wasn’t always rock solid at Tigers, you gotta feel good for him.

I like those stories where someone gets chopped but then go into bigger things. I thought he was done.

I read that he thought he was done when Mary cut him in 2016. Amazing second coming. In saying that, If it’s a close game he may just ride the pine in the GF.

He didn’t. But he was never getting us there.
Wonder if he’ll be grateful that Tigers didn’t keep him in a strange way?

I’d like to see the top 10 ranked players aged 21-23 each year put into a draft and allocated to the bottom 10 sides.

I honestly don’t think it’s not to make it level. It’s to save clubs from themselves. Half the clubs would go under with stupid deals trying to buy a comp.

A competition with the same 4-5 rich teams dominating year after year, with no jeopardy at the other end (eg relegation), is not going to be good for business.

Still, I can't see the NRL making changes any time soon, so we have to get better and get smarter. That starts at the very top.

I want Harry Triguboff to buy the WT franchise and remove the existing Board, Chairperson and CEO. C'mon Harry, if you really love the Tigers, the time is NOW. Your mate Sheensy is back. Do it!!

OK, it wasn't really a signing suggestion. Sorry.

He wanted to and they wouldn't sell.

I worked for Meriton for about 5yrs and once asked him the same question and got the same answer, they wouldn't sell.

The story I heard was he would have agreed to buy the club if they'd given him 100% control. I.e. he didn't just want to contribute huge money, he wanted to run the footy business his own way.

The Wests and Balmain owners didn't want to become redundant. You can understand it, even if they were serial losers, they were financially stable enough to retain the club and didn't want to sell it off. Usually when a club gets sold to a private buyer, it's because the incumbent owners are insolvent and need to offload their assets (e.g. Newcastle, Manly, Souths). Whilst this was temporarily true of Balmain, it has never been true of Wests Ashfield - they are flush.

Board doesn't draw a wage.

And if you paid them what they are worth .....

They still wouldn't draw a wage.

Do you ever say anything positive about Westst's? I have never seen it if you have. What a miserable life you have.

I agree. I like this forum but it has sunk to an extremely low negativity. We don't need negativity as Wests tigers supporters. Negativity spreads faster than COvid. How do you expect the players to improve if the supporters are continually negative.

That's rich.

go to a Draft
let the NRL fund the junior nurseries then it doesn't matter where we play
Leichhardt campbletown SFS or Batlow
team like Roosters don't have juniors anyway and they go pretty well

The best team in the country plays out of a state that will never be a nursery.
