Playing ability aside, the testimony of what he did to his Mrs was abhorrent (despite the charges being dropped). I would be deeply disappointed if the tiges gave him an opportunity.

Yeah seems like a Class A douche however he was massively impressive during the back end of Manly's season and charge into the finals. He's an effort player with skill and really offers a team energy and spark. Is that enough to turn a blind eye to the rest? I tend to feel it isn't however worthy of some consideration.

Mmm, I don't think any level of football ability should make you turn a blind eye to domestic abuse.

Yeah I’m not a huge fan of Dylan walker and what he did was terrible and unforgivable but when you haven’t made the finals for 10 years people will get desperate and take talent over good honest people

I'm prepared to admit that I suspect my deeply held principles would come under severe pressure if we were talking about an in-their-prime Sonny Bill or Thurston with some unpleasant personal baggage.

I've missed something. When has JT ever faced allegations of domestic violence or anything else 'unpleasant'?

In regards to Liddle being a good defender i think people need check some stats.

Nobody is saying he’s good . They’re saying he’s better . Like McDonald’s is better than hungry jacks or vise versa . Neither is a completely nutritious meal.

With the addition of Peachey and potentially Hodgson I think madges idea is clear and that’s to fill the squad with as much experience as possible and start the year off with them because he knows the first few months of the season are imperative to his survival. Start the year off with a bunch of youngsters filling up the last few spots and will get torn up every week and Madge won’t make it to origin.

Sad. Mess up the cap and be forced to carry pensioners long after the coach leaves town. We have been down that road before.

Only positive is that these contracts are only half the length of some of the messes we have just freed ourselves from.

Short contract, relatively cheap, experienced, positive and can mentor younger players. By those measurements Ballin was a gun signing.

Liddle on his best day is Hodgson on his worst I would much rather pass liddle on get Hodgson in mentor simpkin you have robbie farah and Hodgson mentoring a young hooker he could be the next big hooker in the game along with Harry Grant

Are we seriously suggesting that Simpkin is a better option than Liddle?? From what I saw this year Liddle was superior .

Simpkin struggled in defence, but will put a lot of that down to his youth, size and and the effort of other middle defenders around him. I will also put some of Liddle's struggles down to the 3rd point.

I have never seen another club where the smallest middle defender is able to be so easily isolated.
