I did see a character of his appearance in the Shire last Saturday.

I don't mind Woods and would be happy to have him back at WTs.

I used to love him but lost all respect after he bagged us out with his Pooper interview on fox. I still cant believe he did that to his junior club whilst being captain. The hide of him.

That's fair enough too. I view him as a knockabout type who was promoted to captain at a young age and at a very difficult time at WTs. We had so many very good young players and the bigger clubs were never going to be satisfied until we were plundered. It was plain as day to see at the time.

I thought he was doing well as captain and was our best forward leader. He would still be captain today if he was here. He left at a time when we needed him most and with that his legacy left with him. To bag us out on the way out was poor form in my opinion but he was a good player no doubt.

Hodgson is fair better player than Liddle & has a short shelf life if we are serious about Simpkin

Walker won’t cost mega $$$ and would be an instant center upgrade or #14 1st pick, can cover fullback and 5/8th it needed. Peachey didn’t sign to play off the bench he will start at 13.

Liddle is surplus if we get Hodgson, trading him for a forward at a team under cap pressure and for Thompson wouldn’t be bad business at all. Thompson yes will get suspended but we must have someone upfront that is aggressive, will make meters and do the hard yards every game he plays that can support Stefano if we have a chance to keep him.


No one in their right mind would say a starting team of Thompson, Hodgson, Stefano isn’t a very large upgrade on Tamou, Liddle and Stefano.


I’m excited that we are being linked to actually upgrades for a change over a comparable player.

The Wests Tigers have reportedly offered Canberra dummy-half Josh Hodgson a two-year deal to make the move to Sydney.

Having been informed by the Raiders that he wouldn’t be offered a new deal beyond 2023, it is expected that Hodgson will make the move to the Tigers with added contract security a big factor.

The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio says it’s now just down to financial terms between the two sides.

“This one’s been in the works I believe for the last week or so,” Riccio said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“The Wests Tigers making enquiries through the Raiders, I think Josh Hodgson will be a Tiger.

“I think he will be a Wests Tiger next year, I think this will eventuate.

“It’s only down to financial terms and how much the Wests Tigers are willing to pay of Josh Hodgson’s $800,000 contract next year.

“The Raiders will have to chip in, and I think it’ll be in the vicinity of two to three hundred thousand dollars.

“They’ll have to chip in to contribute to Josh Hodgson’s early release to the Tigers next year.”

Riccio says the deal was put forward by the Tigers once new director of football Tim Sheens rubber-stamped the move for the 31-year-old.

“I think the Wests Tigers are ready to do it, and this is a big point, it has the full support of Tim Sheens,” Riccio explained.

“Tim Sheens I know has spoken to the Tigers’ hierarchy about making this a priority to get Josh Hodgson to the club on the basis of experience that the club needs, leadership on field, and I think this will eventuate.

“It may not happen today, but I believe it’ll happen as early as next week.”

The English international has played 137 NRL games for the Raiders since making his debut in 2015.

Even if the faiders are tipping in 200-300k that still means we are paying about 500-600k for a bloke in his 30s coming from 2 ACLs over the last few years.I don't see this ending well or even starting well

I am not sold on Hodgson although i have seen him produce the goods in the past however i would stick with Liddle for another year and maybe throw the sink at Brandon or Harry if he don’t work out , but i am sure Madge will work out what direction he wants to take us

Can't win on this forum at times. Club comes out and openly declares interest in someone and they get pounded when said player signs elsewhere. Club stays quiet about interest in a player and still gets pounded.

I'd say there's more than a little smoke with this one regardless of whether the club has said anything or not. I'd go as far as saying there's fire to go along with the smoke.

I much prefer the silent approach than having the club making themselves look even more useless by making noisy statements about who they are chasing.If people want to speculate that is fine but having quotes from club officials no matter how well intended on who we are negotiating with just makes them look like imbeciles when it fails
