So our only positive has been the young guys we've signed, and the guy that identified them is gone. Are we still focusing on youth or is that changing now too?

We after now chasing youthful old undersized centres cum props and a winger who enjoys spending about 74 minutes on the bench ......

Did we check that Sheenius didn't lose a kangaroo in the top paddock before we re-signed him

Well I assume he's copping a lot of the blame in the bungled TPJ, JAC negotiations. No one really knows what happened there, but we screwed them up.

We also went an offered a contract to Finucane which we knew would not be accepted for some reason.

I don't understand why everyone is upset on the Hodgson proposed deal is he older yes but he provides so much more than liddle on and off field its a smart move he is older signs a 2 year gives time for jake to get ready then he takes over seems straightforward to me

Since everyone is an appointed expert on Adam H all of a sudden, can someone not named Cochise, tell me what he’s done for the club aside from identifying junior talent ? My knowledge of all that background stuff is very little but surely the role of general manager of football has more to do than that ? Not to mention the 2 juniors I see mentioned in spades on here is Ogden and Hill and it appears the club is on the verge of losing both of them. No good identifying junior talent if you can’t keep it right ?

Wasn't there someone on here who knew him from the Roosters days and was very critical of what he'd done there?

In all his time here during all the recruitment criticisms I’ve seen 3 people at the absolute most go into bat for him. Again I know very little, but it’s evident that it’s no good identifying all this junior talent when you can’t surround them with the required experienced players

With all this talk about Hodgson's age I remember that Cam Smith, another hooker, was still playing well when he was well past Hodgson's current age. Farah wasn't a youngster when he retired either.

Smith & Farah never had a knee reconstruction let alone two in the last 3 years.

Robbie actually did do an ACL .....2003 from memory

I stand corrected.....again, in 2003 he was 19. Massive difference between a torn ACL and reconstruction when you are 19 to when you are 30.

I don't know enough to have a strong opinion myself. But my impression on the forum at least, is lots of people have bagged him, and until today I only really remember cochise sticking up for him.

Sorry mate ..i totally agreed with your post ...just knew Robbie had ACL surgery ....I think they mentioned it after he scored that almost length of the field try in 2004 .....

I have to say Im worried about this. I dont have any personal or first or second hand information but from the outside it looked like the right things were happening. It could be possible that I have it wrong and there is no denying we havent been successful in attracting established players.

I would feel more confident if it wasnt McDonnell replacing him.

It was a dad of a player not kept so hardly impartial.

He would know zilch about football and players abilities. That's not his role. His role is administration and financial. Making sure the club is financially viable. Managing the football department is what Sheens with his expertise was hired for.

He is also such a smart footballer between the ears and knows how to control a game.. He also can kick well out of Dummy half unlike what we have. Simpkins has had little football over the last 2 years due to Covid so he needs game time to develop and learning from Hodgson is better then Liddle. Its a Yes for me on 2 years or if the 3rd year was a CO.
