Who's the back up Fullback now...?

If Israel Ogden is still with the club, he's an option. And the other option is Dillon although he's going to need a big pre-season in the gym.

Not sure those guys would be in the Top 30 and would have to wait till Rd 10 or so to get a run..

Hopefully Laurie stays fit or you would assume Hastings since he has played there for Wigan quite a few times this year..

Nofoaluma at fullback doesn't fill me with confidence..

Fullback options (perhaps not round one, pending fitness, but options for the season)

Laurie
Doueihi
Hastings
Kepaoa
Dillon

Not a huge amount of proven quality but a number of players who can do a job and a youngster with huge potential.

Peachey?

Peachey is an interesting one. I feel like he doesn't really like being a utility player but instead would prefer a permanent position. I wonder how we'll use him.

Has to play lock almost every week for us

I thought that was going to be Hastings position?

Think that was mostly a smokescreen to be honest... he's talking about playing in the halves or off the bench. There's no reason you would sign Hastings as a lock and then sign peachey as a lock a few months later - Hastings will be pushing for a halves spot.

Agreed, Hastings and Peachy would fill similar roles in the lock position. I think Hastings really is the only choice at 6 to start the season.

AD and twal were on a sen podcast this week. Ad still keen on the 6 position. If Hastings and Brooks fire where does AD best fit in the team?

Centre

Centre, utility or move to the 13. Knowing AD he won't be happy with centre or bench utility.

If tigers want to play finals this year Doueihi has to play in the halves.
HAS TO
He is a waste playing centre or utility. Although he is a fantastic centre it is because of his run game, eyes up footy and ability to kick. Which is everything a great five-eighth should have.
Doueihi at 6. A MUST

I dont see what others do in Doueihi. I like his passion but i think he is very limited in terms of actual playing ability and is a woeful defender. I do think he has the work ethic to greatly improve his game, but i dont see those improvements coming next year after a 9 month injury lay-off.

Does anyone know when AD is expected to return?

I'd play Hastings 7 and Brooks 6 until AD is fit.
When he returns, it depends on the Brooks/Hastings combo.
If they are winning, great! Leave them be.
If not, AD to 6 and Brooks to 14.

I remember reading approx round 10-12 but no official expected return date has been announced.

Turdberg may be gone but there is still plenty of favouritism at the NRL.Pet clubs get looked after on their salary cap off the field and tame refs look after the same clubs on the field when it comes to the 50/50 calls.

He could be moved to centre but I think he'll come back to the 6 jersey. Hastings and Brooks compete for the 7

Hastings and Doueihi would be the slowest halves combination in the history of slow halves combinations.

And? If they're scoring and creating tries it doesn't matter. Doueihi scored and assisted plenty of tries despite not being super fast.

Doueihi used his size most of the time.

He's very strong, close to the line he's a threat because he's a try scoring threat and can pass.

7.14am Wednesday 3rd November. Still no signings. Anyway it's a long way to 5pm so here's hoping for some joy between now and then.

IMO Madden is going to be a very good half. You can see it already in the game he played at the end of year. Brooks happens to be the perfect foil for him as he is the one half who has genuine pace. Hastings since I have watched him in junior days makes a snail look fast. His old man was a decent club footballer but lacked the pace to play higher level football.

He's a clever organiser, with a great kicking game, both long and short distance. He throws a nice pass and has a decent step which sets up his outside men. Expectations on our young halves are often great. He reminds me of Matt Head and John Simon. We just need time for him to develop.

I anticipate Madden will come on well under Sheens.

I hope your right with Madden

I didn't get to see him play and plenty bag him

So what is it you see paws?

What type of halfback is he?

What current/ former half does he remind you of?

He's a clever organiser, with a great kicking game, both long and short distance. He throws a nice pass and has a decent step which sets up his outside men. Expectations on our young halves are often great. He reminds me of Matt Head. We just need time for him to develop.

I can't see him hanging around if not given a go this year. Probably back to Newcastle

He could be moved to centre but I think he'll come back to the 6 jersey. Hastings and Brooks compete for the 7

Hastings and Doueihi would be the slowest halves combination in the history of slow halves combinations.

Quick between the ears though

Doueihi being out for the start of the season means his role will be determined by whoever is underperforming when he comes back. If the 6 and 7 are going well they stay and he plays centre if not one of them goes.

One thing we desperately need is a centre regardless of where Adam ends up.

Desperately need a good centre is a big understatement.

I haven't been checking in here much lately, but it's good to see @pawsandclaws1is still living in the fanatsy world of Sheens coaching the NRL squad.

It makes for easy predictions of his 2022 posts; any improvement will be the work of Sheens, and any lack of improvement will be the work of Maguire hinderng the genius of Sheens. Sweet delusion.

Mate Maguire needs help he's admitted it himself and results speak for themselves.

That is because you don't want Hastings to outperform your boy Brooks. You'd rather they Tigers lose than Brooks not be 7

If he goes, the club will more than likely be good with it.

Pitty we put all that development into him tho

I haven’t seen anything that leads me to think he’d be a big loss.
