What a game it will be

Hey, we won the final 30 minutes of that game 16 - 6.

Our game plan in that game was to tire them out in the first 50 minutes by repeatedly giving them the ball, which went well, it did tire them out.

Though unfortunately they scored 60 points in that first 50 mins.

Haven't Melbourne never Lost the first game or something

Since 03. Streaks are meant to be broken.

For a club that has not made the finals for 10 years we seem to keep getting sponsors but cannot get a quality signing to save itself.... Maybe we need to Corporate team to take over the player recruitment area :face_with_rolling_eyes:

Weren’t they a sponsor in the mid 2000’s? I can almost swear that they were. Either them or a business with a very similar name.

I think there is a real estate agent on the board?

So weve got a litigation lawyer....a real estate agent...we need a used car salesman to complete our triumvirate!

Expand on what this conflict of interest is? Would it not be in the interest of a sponsor for the team to be successful?

You say conflict of interest, I say skin in the game.....unless you can clarify what you mean?

I don't agree with Sponsors being on the Board of Directors...
I can't see how it's not a conflict of Interest.
Directors of the club shouldn't have financial interests in the club.... external of the club.
At what point are they wearing what hat - I've also heard it more than once where people in and around the game feel it in-appropriate that out major sponsor is also chairman of the board....

Good on him people seem to care about the club who are involved. We just need people that can run a rugby league club in key positions.

So we have 2 board members (that we know of)
doubling as club sponsors...
I'm not going to debate their contribution to running the Football Club, No one not in that room should be doing that....
But I wouldn't have to look real hard to find something or someone that says we're poorly run - And have been for years...

If it was my club - My board wouldn't have Lawyers and Real Estate Agents on it... Let alone having them double dipping as a major sponsor.

That’s a good point. We’re never going to challenge Melbourne at full strength but having those two out at least gives us some outside chance of an upset.

I predict if we do somehow win, a few here will give Sheens all the credit.

We’re no hope of getting Brandon Smith. I’d much rather we spend the time looking at gettable targets, so I’m happy we’re not in the list of clubs mentioned. It would just lead to more bad publicity.
