Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Must have been like very recently if he did. I heard he’s got a handful of suitors trying to liberate him from Bellyache and we were in the mix allegedly.

A rumour was we had an interest in Welch, anyone heard anything on that front?

I thought Welch re-signed with Storm?

As frustrating as it’s been not having him on the field, and as much as I have called him the invisible man, I think he’s worth persisting with.

Musgrove played great in the Indigenous all star game last year and had me really excited. Unfortunately he never really got going. I think if he can stay fit and build some confidence he'd be great

I'm pretty sure he picked up a suspension in that game and then an injury in his return from suspension and never got going from there?

What are your thoughts on Joey Manu as a FB?

I personally think that is his best position, and has a really high workrate from fullback. Big, strong and has really good support play.

I know there’s a lot of outside backs who have crunched the numbers and say they would rather be a FB, especially at the roosters lol. But Manu looks a genuine FB to me, in the Gary Jack style.

His defence in the Manly game bordered on horrific. I have faith he will come good though. Madge must see something in him to have offered a 4 year deal.

He's a super talent. You can play him FB, Wing, Centre, 5/8 and he would be one of your best on the park.

The Canterbury Bulldogs have reportedly issued John Asiata a letter of termination due to his refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccination.

Wasn’t on that much money anyway no real loss for them they’ll probably sign an off contract forward to take his place

This is how Gus will balance the cap, same way as Panthers by sacking players that have a some misdemeanour against them.

Even so he wasn’t on big big money from them probably not more than 300K so it might help balance their cap but that’s about it

Was $180k per season.

For 180K they really won’t get many people for that it’ll probably just help their cap

Twal has just been extended 2 years. Any thoughts from the panel?

He is one of the very few in the pack that consistently has a go.
I’m happy for the extension.

3 year deal he was off contract originally after this season but we originally offered 2 years Dragons were willing to offer 3 but he didn’t want to leave he just wanted that extra year from us which is why hr stayed but I hope he gets better the first part of 2020 he was doing really well until his injury and just hasn’t been the same since

Any update on old josh Hodgson?

At Raiders training. Could be wrong, but I think if it doesn’t happen this week, it doesn’t happen at all.

I am hearing talks that were looking at Jack Wighton
Surely Hodgson only makes sense if its with Wighton? Normally players are signed in pairs for mateship reasons...(look, great players, but not guys I pay overs for)

Would take Joey Manu over Jack Wighton any day of the week. Even with a Latrell badge of honour

It was reported about a week ago that Joey Manu has told the Roosters he plans to re-commit for a further 2 years. If he were on the market the Warriors would make a substantial play for him.

I don’t think he was ever leaving Bondi. They don’t lose who they want to keep.
