Should be an awesome season for Josh and Ricky

Canberra may have an unsettled group and an expensive unhappy player on the bench. All because of a couple hundred K.
Can’t imagine Ricky (Or Hodgson) are going to be happy with the admin department

I still think we'll get Hodgson the raiders probably thought we'd buckle by now and if recent history is anything to go by they had every right to think that. I think now that Sheens is here overseeing things has changed that landscape a bit, we can afford to wait them out or walk away if we so choose.

Despite what the media are saying its still a possibility. Looks like both clubs don’t want to budge. I wouldn’t want the Tigers to pay full freight because of the injury risk. He would be good for a season with our young pups.
If Canberra don’t throw in the $ . Go after another old hard head. Or just make Robbie Farah stay out there as “trainer” for 80 mins

I don't know why we don't have Farah out there for 80 mins. Heck, get Kimmorley out there too.

Broncos and Qld have had Langer still out there as a waterboy for the last 20 years!

And Cayless on the side line with the inter change forwards pumping them up before they come on.

Keep Madge up in the the box as it might get dangerous if he starts throwing chairs near the sideline.

lol.

There was a few times last year I wished Madge had been on the sidelines screaming at his players. In fact there has been a few times over the last few years I wished he had locked them out of the change rooms and made them run laps in front of a crowd that had expected better.

I'm starting to feel a tiny bit more optimistic though, that Papalii signing definitely helped.

Thought Laurie was pretty impressive overall last year, like most young backs coming into first grade they get there because they can attack and it’s up to them to improve there defence as they get stronger and more confident. He should be in for a big year Daine coming into his 2 full nrl preseason, 1 with us and 1 with the panthers. Dillon on the other hand is not ready for nrl, only starting his first nrl preaseason. Yes he shows great potential but he also needs to work hard against men on his defence in the preseason. I’d say the goal for him would be consistency in his game this year in Reggie’s, and maybe get a run late in the year at nrl level if we are a rabble or well out of contention. Both really do look good future prospects for the future

Games: 19, 19
Tries: 8, 7
Try assists: 3, 8
Linebreaks: 5, 9
Tackle efficiency: 71.94%, 71.4%
Average run metres: 117, 134
Tackle breaks: 54, 71

First column is Tedesco in 2013, second column is Laurie in 2021. I wouldn't go writing the kid off as average based on his first season.

So with Hodgson not coming I am a little disappointed however I do not for 1 second blame them for not paying all freight.. If Raiders didn't want to come to the party then so be it and we move on.
Good Luck to them having one of the top paid players there that doesn't want to be..

So who is next on the list?

Not sure who, but Sheens was quoted when Papali'i signed saying they want to add a centre or a backrower who can play centre

Are you really comparing him to a 20yr old coming off an ACL in the NRL almost 10 years ago.... We're really doing that?

Fair comparison. Tedesco is special ACL or no ACL. I don’t think he’s another Teddy but he won our best player award for good reason.

Comparing his first full season to the first full season of the last young up and coming fullback to come through the club, gee how ridiculous :face_with_rolling_eyes:

Yep..hes got plenty of potential.
But needs to bulk up a bit which will improve his missed tackle count..and need improve his positional play as fb
I think he can do both...but 2022 is pretty critical for him
Same withLiddle...good potential but needs to improve key areas of his game

Was almost 10 years ago man,
Going back that far is ridiculous - Games different, Players are different.

He was trying to give you a like for like comparison. Thankfully he's doing that...

What's all this talk about Laurie?

He had a great season. Sure he's got plenty to work on but he's what, 20 or 21? His first full season of first grade and he was our best player almost every week, played his absolute guts out

I personally noticed his defence and ball playing improving as the season went on also. Could become a quality fullback for a long time

What’s with all this hate for Laurie? He’s 22 and had played 3 NRL games before coming across. He joined late in the off season. And was expected to fill in an important role in an unsettled spine. Yes he’s got things to work on but so does after one after one year in the top grade.

Which comments have expressed hate for him?
