For that alone , if I was looking in who should captain (I'd pick AD.. but with him out....) Hastings for mine ticks all the boxes and is so far ahead of anyone else in the team, 0 games in the jersey or not.

Gee that's a spin if I've ever heard it... anything to defend Brooks

There's absolutely nothing inspiring about Brooks in his last few seasons. As a forward you work hard to get up the field and he kicks it dead. As a winger you work hard to get into a try scoring opportunity and he executes the play wrong

His defence has become a myth. 6th most missed tackles in the entire NRL. Sure he's better than some halfbacks but defence is probably the last thing I'm looking for in a halfback... Thurston and Lockyer couldn't defend at all.

Anyway it'll be Tamou captain for now while he's still around. 2023 the role is up for grabs

Was it the game at Leichhardt during the win against the Panthers when Brooks came from the other side of the field and ran down the Penrith attacker (it may have been Edwards) who was in the clear and headed for a try. That was inspirational.

Stats can be misleading. The more tackles you are required to make the more you are likely to miss. This is especially so for Brooks where forwards are instructed to run at him to tire him out and nullify his attacking game.

Gee one tackle, make him captain!

Wouldn't his tackle count be massively high if he was asked to make more tackles than anyone else? Don't see him topping the tackle count every week... makes just as many as any other halfback

The only way to not accept it is to walk away completely.The only thing they will take the punters advice on is what kind badge design should they use for membership packages. If you think they look to this place for ideas on how to improve the football department, you are having a laugh

They’d belittle us even more if we replaced him with a guy who hasn’t played in the NRL for 3 years and wasn’t even proven when he did.

It's not so much about "improving the football department".

But to ignore the fans' is a good way to lose them.

If you think they'd go... let's make.. Matt Lodge the captain without taking in how fans or the general public would respond wouldn't be ideal for them.

You are saying that as a supporter who is looking for positives. That’s not how the rest of the RL would view it.
